1914年のイギリス。数学者としてケンブリッジ大学で生徒を教えているG・H・ハーディは、インドから届いた手紙に記されていた驚異的な発見に夢中になる。差出人であるラマヌジャンを大学に招き絆を育んでいくハーディだったが、ほかの教授たちは学歴もなく社会的階級も低いとして彼を拒絶する。偏見や差別にさらされた末に重い病を患ってしまうラマヌジャン。そんな彼に代わって、ハーディは数式の証明しようと立ち上がる。

感染パニックに陥ったイギリスを脱出するジャンボ機に搭乗するべく、空港に向かった親子。飛行機は二人を残し飛び立ってしまい、機内では感染者が発見されたことから、乗客の命か人類の存続かで意見が対立する。
