Namiko Morita, who lived in Otaru, moved to this area with her husband, Yutaro, and opened the brewery "Morita Brewery". Eventually, they succeeded in this business and lived happily while raising three children. However, in August 1945, the situation changed completely due to the Soviet invasion of Manchuria.

東京に住む上田孝夫と美智子の夫婦。孝夫は売れない小説家、美智子は大学病院の有能な医師だった。ある日、美智子は流産をきっかけにパニック障害という心の病にかかってしまう。都会の生活にも仕事にも疲れきっていた2人は、孝夫の故郷である信州へ移住することを決心した。2人は移り住んだある村で、村の死者がまつられた阿弥陀堂で暮らしているおうめ婆さんを始め、様々な人々と出会った。喋ることが出来ない難病を抱える少女・小百合は、おうめが日々思ったことを書きとめ、村の広報誌に“阿弥陀堂だより”として連載していた。

ホームレスの集落を訪れた失業中の中年男・陽介は、そこで人生の師と仰ぐ老人・タロウの死に直面する。生前、タロウから「盗んだ金の仏像を、能登半島の日本海に面した赤い橋のたもとの家に隠した」と聞いていた陽介は、富山湾沿いの赤い橋のある土地を訪れた。そこで陽介は、たもとの家に住むサエコと出会うが、彼女の体には不思議な現象が起きていた。体内に水がたまると悪いことがしたくなり、快感と共に水を放出するというのだ。

終戦を間近に控えた昭和20年の夏。赤城はこの町の開業医で患者を誰でも“肝臓病”と診断することから人々から“カンゾー先生”と揶揄されていた。そんな赤城の下にこの町にはめずらしい美人の看護婦ソノ子がやってくる。しかし、ソノ子は根はまじめながら、女郎だった母親の教えもあって、時々男に体を売っていた。

昭和20年8月6日、広島に原爆が投下された。が、当時の広島の人たちには何が起こったのかさえわからなかった。ましてその後の原爆症の恐ろしさなど。強烈な閃光がひらめいた後、青い空が黒雲におおわれ、黒い雨が降り始めた。いぶかしげに空を見上げる矢須子の白いブラウスが点々と黒くなっていく。彼女が20歳の夏だった。それから5年。矢須子は叔父・重松の生まれ故郷の村で叔父夫婦とつつましく暮らしていた。美しく成長した彼女に縁談話は後を絶たなかったが、その度に被爆者だという理由で断られてしまう。重松は自分のこと以上に矢須子のことが心配だ。そんな時、矢須子に思いを寄せる青年が現れ、結婚を前提に交際を始める。

飼主の大学教授が亡くなってからも、渋谷の駅で主人を待ち続けた忠犬ハチの実話を基に人間と動物の交流を描く。原作・脚本は「映画女優」の新藤兼人、監督は「旅路　村でいちばんの首吊りの木」の神山征二郎、撮影は「きみが輝くとき」の姫田真佐久がそれぞれ担当。

山口瞳の小説を降旗康男が映画化。函館で居酒屋「兆治」を営む藤野英治。輝くような青春を送り、挫折と再生を経て現在に至っている。かつての恋人で、今は資産家と一緒になった「さよ」の転落を耳にするが、現在の妻茂子との生活の中で何もできない自分と、振り払えない思いに挟まれていく。周囲の人間はそんな彼に同情し苛立ち、さざなみのような波紋が周囲に広がる。「煮えきらねえ野郎だな。てめえんとこの煮込みと同じだ」と学校の先輩の河原に挑発されても、頭を下げるだけの男。そんな夫を見ながら茂子は、人が人を思うことは誰にも止められないと呟いていた。

中学校の理科教師である城戸誠（沢田研二）は、茨城県東海村の原子力発電所から液体プルトニウムを強奪し、アパートの自室でハンドメイドの原爆を完成させた。そして、金属プルトニウムの欠片を仕込んだダミー原爆を国会議事堂に置き去り、日本政府を脅迫する。

映画を一年に三六五本見ることを二十年続けるとうそぶく中年の映画狂と映画館で甘い夢にまどろむ青年の友情に一人の少女を絡めて描く。脚本、監督は映画ジャーナリストからこの作品でデビューした原田眞人。

A department store girl is robbed of her cash register by a boy, but for some reason she cannot forget the boy's mysterious eyes, and time passes. One day, she discovers the eyes by chance, and relentlessly pursues the boy.

The twelfth shogun, Ieyoshi, embraces Oruri day and night under the care of Fujioka, a guest attendant at the O-oku. However, Fujioka's senior, Kumoi, who recommends Oseki to him, is not amused at all. The scene between Fujioka and Kumoi was symbolic of the battle between women in the O-oku. Fujioka hears from Orui that she is pregnant and rejoices that she has nothing to fear if she bears the Shogun's child. Meanwhile, Kumoi comforts Bure, who is a lesbian, and asks Oseki to help her get a call from the shogun.

By going to the Philippines, Imamura comes to meet people living in an extreme poverty. He discovers very quickly that some communities are under the control of cruel & armed pirates. Imamura will come to meet those men in order to understand their position.

Tsutomu Yoshioka, a Tokyo office worker, is enaged to Mariko, the niece of his company's president. But Yoshioka has a crisis of consence when he remembers his former love Mitsu, a rural girl whom he met and later left while in college. Shimako, a former friend, persuades Yoshioka to meet with Mitsu while she plots to blackmail Yoshioka by photographing the meeting to break up Mariko and Yoshioka.

From time to time, Haru shares her bed with Subu, though she believes her dead husband, reincarnated as a carp, disapproves. Director Shohei Imamura has always delighted in the kinky exploits of lowlifes, and in this 1966 classic, he finds subversive humor in the bizarre dynamics of Haru, her Oedipal son, and her daughter, the true object of her pornographer-boyfriend’s obsession. Imamura’s comic treatment of such taboos as voyeurism and incest sparked controversy when the film was released, but The Pornographers has outlasted its critics, and now seems frankly ahead of its time.
