１９７４年のデトロイト。爆弾処理班のクリスは性犯罪課へ異動となり、そこで美女グレタから地元の大金持ウディに強姦された事件の捜査依頼を受ける。捜査に気乗りしないクリスだったが、ウディの邸宅で爆破事件が起こり、元爆弾処理班の血が騒ぎ始める。グレタへの下心もあって捜査に本腰を入れるクリスだが、ウディや彼の手下は捜査に非協力的だった。そんな中、ウディの大金を狙う男女が現れ、捜査は混沌を極めてゆく。
