Yuzo, a mosaic engineer for porn videos, lives under the same roof as Mitsuki, a high school student with whom he leads a peculiar life. One day, Yuzo receives a phone call from Mitsuki's sister.

Kazuki (28), a novice novelist, is spending his summer vacation on his home island to write a new novel. By chance, Kazuki is put in charge of the pension where he is staying, and he meets two guests, Reiko (28) and Yuka (24). Kazuki sees in Reiko the image of a woman he used to date, and easily falls in love with her. One night over drinks, the three begin to clash greatly, triggered by Yuka's unrestrained behavior.

４人の女性たちが直面するそれぞれの人生の岐路 30代も後半を迎えた、あかり、桜子、芙美、純の4人は、なんでも話せる親友同士だと思っていた。純の秘密を知るまでは……。中学生の息子がいる桜子は、多忙な夫を支えながら家庭を守る平凡な暮らしにどこか寂しさを感じていた。編集者である夫をもつ芙美もまた、真に向き合うことのできないうわべだけ良好な夫婦関係に言い知れぬ不安を覚えていた。あかりはバツイチ独身の看護師。できの悪い後輩に手を焼きながら多忙な日々を過ごし、病院で知り合った男性からアプローチを受けるも今は恋愛をする気になれずにいる。 純の現状を思わぬかたちで知った彼女たちの動揺は、いつしか自身の人生をも大きく動かすきっかけとなっていく。つかの間の慰めに4人は有馬温泉へ旅行に出かけ楽しい時を過ごすが、純の秘めた決意を3人は知る由もなかった。やがてくる長い夜に彼女たちは問いかける。 —私は本当になりたかった私なの？
