1995年夏、愛知県の錦重工業小牧工場から防衛庁へ納品する最新の設備を搭載したヘリコプターが、正体不明の人物によって奪われてしまう。やがて遠隔操作されたヘリは稼働中の高速増殖炉の上空でホバリングを開始し、テロリストが日本全国の原発停止を求める犯行声明を出しヘリ内に子供がいることがわかった。

Ayumi Aizawa is a lonely young man without a family. He works at Forest Hyde Press Hotel as a cleaner. His deceased grandfather Kenzaburo worked at the same hotel. When his grandfather worked at the Forest Hyde Press Hotel, the hotel was well known for its extreme hospitality. Now, the hotel is nothing more than an ordinary hotel. New manager Ryuuya Sawashiro then attempts to bring the hotel back to its glory days.

昭和31年、博多。ある日、全盲でありながら島原鉄道の社長であり郷土研究家でもある宮﨑康平が行方不明になり、無事発見されるが、「わが郷土、島原は遺跡の上に出来た町」と、神がかりなことを言い出す。復旧作業が始まると、次々と土器が発掘される。しかし、康平の解任によって雲仙観光バスは廃止。バスガールの長浜和子も島原を去ることになるが、駅で和子を待っていたのは康平だった。こうして、康平の妻として、和子の新しい生活が始まった。それは目の見えない康平の代わりに和子が魏志倭人伝などを読んで聞かせ、康平がそれを読み解き、“まぼろしの邪馬台国”の場所を探すという共同作業だった・・・。

A humorous wedding story fueled by a rather no-good father and son, disguised as the old and new “good guys.” The father Nobuo, and his son Tamio, are unable to mature, unable to break the parent-child roles, have no sense of responsibility, and keep holding on to the past. The pair is overwhelmed by all the colorful characters around them telling them what to do. They go to strenuous and humorous efforts to make Tamio’s wedding an event to remember.

依頼者からの情報をもとに闇の取引現場に潜入し、ブラックマネーを奪還、そして寸分無く依頼者にその金を送り戻す“リターナー”ミヤモトは少年時代に親友を殺した日本人の犯人を捜している。やがて親友を殺した男・溝口を見つけ出したものの、激しい銃撃戦の末、溝口を取り逃がしてしまう。だが、その現場に居合わせた謎の少女ミリから地球の存亡にかかわる“重大なモノ”の奪還を依頼される。

A man on his way home from a wedding. When he wakes up drunk, he finds himself in a park in the early morning. As he wanders the city in the early morning, he meets a girl on a mountain bike and is suddenly chased by the police instead of the girl. The camera, which had been following the lazy, fresh morning air, turns around and starts running away with the man. The police chase him relentlessly. As he struggles to outrun his pursuers, he finds himself becoming increasingly elated. As he runs, he finds himself becoming more and more elated, as if it is the start of a journey away from the boredom of everyday life. The camera work is superb, eloquently capturing the man running with all his might.
