50代の人気作家・涼子は、ある時遺伝性アルツハイマーと診断される。それは有効な治療法がなく、発症して3年ほどで最悪死に至るという難病だった。自らの死を覚悟した彼女は、最後に何かを残したいと大学講師の依頼を引き受けることに。そんなある日、彼女は教え子たちと訪れた居酒屋で、韓国人留学生のアルバイト店員チャネと出会う。彼の誠実さに好感を抱いた涼子は、遺作かもしれない新作執筆の助手を彼に頼む。
