1990年代、アルジェリア。ファッションデザインに夢中な大学生のネジュマはナイトクラブで自作のドレスを販売している。夢は、世界中の女性の服を作るデザイナーになること。だが武装した過激派のイスラム主義勢力の台頭によりテロが頻発する首都アルジェでは、ヒジャブの着用を強制するポスターがいたるところに貼られるように。従うことを拒むネジュマはある悲劇的な出来事をきっかけに、自分たちの自由と未来のため、命がけでファッションショーを行うことを決意する―。
