In an industrial town one business firm stands out with good management. Thanks to the agile director Todor, his successful policy of "World breakthrough" the whole town look forward to progress and incredibly quick prosperity in 1966. The director's driver Milutin is the center of absurdly dramatic relations in which base manipulation dominates. His lonely, consequent, and reasonable admiration for Todor, his honesty and goodwill bring him into situations to which he can't and won't adapt to, nor will he quit...

They meet in Yugoslavia. Katharina, daughter of a Yugoslavian immigrant worker, has grown up in the Federal Republic of Germany. She is a confident, energetic career woman who has managed to work her way up to become a successful television journalist. She goes to visit her parent's country, to do a story about the children of immigrant workers in their home country. Although she says she doesn´t need a "home" any more, even she feels strange in her own country. Peter is a rather "untypical" sort of man: a dreamer, a thinker. He has given up his steady job as a composer for advertising films and is divorced. He goes to Jugoslavia to find something out about the past. He travels to the places where his father was stationed during the Second World War.

In the mountains of Montenegro people have lived by strict and Draconian laws for centuries, almost untouched by modern civilization. This is a movie about the start of people's uprising in Montenegro in World War II. After the capitulation of the Yugoslav Royal Army in April 1941, the Italians managed to infiltrate their puppet regime in Montenegro. But, conflicts with manager at work are becoming more often, his marriage is unstable and the outer manifestation of all this is a strange skin disease. The consequences of this encounter are beneficial. Capable to love again, he gets his moral strength, and disease retreats. He breaks off his contacts with his wife's family and with "petit bourgeois" of his former life, confronts his boss and wins, realizing that this is only a first victory which has straightened him up.

The richest merchant in XIX century Sarajevo and his fellow travelers are captured by a group of bandits. In order to learn more about merchant’s riches, the bandits’ leader investigates the group and discovers that merchant’s wife, who cheated on merchant during one of his travels, later – in fear of his vengeance played to be possessed by “rage”. Looking for the cure, the merchant brings his wife to Ahmed Jusuf – former warrior and man of authority. Jusuf advised the merchant to take his wife and move into another region – having an idea on what was the story behind wife’s rage, bat also in an attempt to protect himself from the feelings that have already stifled.

The leftover disbanded partisan battalion draws Chetniks' attention, who push their plans of attacking the partisan headquarters aside and start hunting them instead.

Partisans attack a column of hundred german trucks cisterns, that carry fuel to the front. However, their action is difficult, as Germans have chained Soviet prisoners to the driving wheels. The mission is to stop and destroy the column and save the lives of the prisoners.

The locals discovered the heaps of money by accident, and soon begun to build new houses and buy the land. Unfortunately, the Italians occupied the country and burned their properties to ashes.
