80代の元大学教授のタカシは、デートクラブを通して亡き妻に似た明子を自宅に呼ぶ。しかし、明子は駅で彼女を待っていたはずの祖母のことを気にしていた。翌朝、明子を大学へ送ったタカシを婚約者ノリアキは彼女の祖父と間違えてしまう。こうして三人が出会ったことにより、物語は予期せぬ方向へと進んでいき…。

夫婦二人の船旅の途中、嵐に遭い無人島に漂着した清子。そこにある日、16人の若いフリーターたちが流れ着く。さらには密航に失敗した6人の中国人たちが加わり、若い男23人と清子の共同生活が始まる。いつまで待っても助けの船は来ず、いつしか島を“東京島”と呼ぶようになる中、清子はただ一人の女性として特別視され、したたかに生き抜いていく。月日は流れ、島に定住しようとする男たちに対し、清子は脱出のための行動を開始するが……。

At some point in the near future gun and weapon control laws are deregulated by public order. Asia quickly becomes the epicenter of criminal activity in the world. In Yokohama City this violence becomes so extreme that the population drops as people try to escape the criminal element that remain. When The Jack Brothers murder Milly's husband and daughter in front of her, she vows revenge.

A young man writes a novel about his forbidden love with his sister, who works overtime in the office on a holiday. Based on the manga of the same name by Naoki Yamamoto, and covering the manga's inspiration source, Juro Kara's "Anjuko's Shoes" and Ogai Mori's "Sansho Dayu".
Production Manager
A visual documentary of Einstürzende Neubauten, the German underground band, by Japanese cult director Sogo Ishii, made during their 1985 tour of Japan. The band makes an elaborate and remarkably choreographed appearance in the ruins of an old ironworks which was scheduled for demolition; footage of same was incorporated into the movie and a brief appearance on stage.
