For this film, Takashi Makino allowed himself to be inspired by the earth. In a never-ending stream of images, we recognize elements from the forest that he then reduces to an abstraction. The film came about as a classical composition in which the picture and the musical contribution of Jim O’Rourke link up seamlessly and lead the mood in turn. A sense of freedom is what predominates.

The film is constructed from video material that the author shot in 1999 at the horseshoe factory in Karlovac (closed in 2005). It consists of 99 shots. A special software arranges the shots in a new random order each time it is run. Each generated configuration represents a unique author film - the Nth Cinematic Nail Factory, where N is the ordinal number of each film edited in this way.

Film is about communication. Kobrin pays homage to Vasili Nalimov, to his work and life. Nalimov was a mathematician and philosopher, but was also an eccentric anarchist with mystic tendencies who spent eighteen years in a concentration camp. Nalimov’s philosophy relies on probabilistic methods in the natural and social sciences and applies them to the study of language and consciousness.

젊고 유능한 에디 제섭 교수(윌리엄 허트)는 환각성 마약과 고립상태를 이용하여 인간의 진화의 비밀을 밝히려는 연구를 한다. 심지어 자신을 기니어 피그(실험도구)로 사용하는데, 한 사람이 들어가서 누울 수 있는 정도의 공간으로 된 곳에서, 몸이 살짝 잠길 수 있는 정도의 물을 채우고는 들어가 눕는다. 들어가 누울 때 그는 자신의 뇌파와 심박동 등을 체크할 수 있게끔 몸 여기저기에 전극 같은 것을 부착한다. 처음에는 약품을 이용한 가벼운 환상체험 실험이었는데 점차 그 강도가 올라가게 된 것이다. 동료들의 걱정에도 불구하고 계속 실험을 하는데 기괴한 현상이 벌어지기 시작한다. 환상 속에서 그는 인류로 진화되기 전의 직립원인이 되기도 하고, 턱이 튀어나오고 인간으로서는 믿을 수 없는 놀라운 괴력을 보이기도 하며, 야수의 본능을 갖게 된 나머지 밤에 이웃의 동물원에 침입해 영양을 잡아먹기도 한다. 그러고 깨어난 후 자신이 벌거벗은 채 연구실에 널브러져 있고 온몸이 동물의 피로 범벅이 된 것을 보고 충격을 받는다. 처음에는 자신이 밤에 한 행동이 환상인 줄 알았는데 그것이 실제 벌어진 것이라는 걸 알면서 그는 혼란에 빠진다.

A short student film reflecting on the reality of living in the modern urban dystopia

This provocative short film explores women's power, force and passion through an enigmatic series of images, erotic performances and tableaux vivant. Beautifully shot, it references as well as recreates a trajectory of images of women throughout history. Moving from the slow, thoughtful effect of allegorical painting to the fast paced impact of MTV, Yoni plays with the structures of stylization, narrative and montage. There is a poetic and lyrical feel to this film's investigation of representing the feminine and it manages to explore both the chains that bind as well as the threads that connect women --across time, culture and history.

Three sailors are talked into trying LSD and marijuana--which, this film implies, are basically the same thing--and the effects of the drugs endanger the lives of their fellow sailors aboard ship.

In the not too distant future a new device allows for cooperative dreaming. A man sees hope with this device and uses this it to reconnect with his wife who lies unconscious in a coma.

The first embodiment of (a) concept of structural activity in cinema comes in Kren's Bäume im Herbst, where the camera as a subjective observer is constrained within a systematic or structural procedure, incidentally the precursors of the most structuralist aspect of Michael Snow's later work. In this film, perception of material relationships in the world is seen to be no more than a product of the structural activity in the work. Art forms experience.
