The Big Snow of '82 (2023)

오늘은 햄버거 비! 내일은 스파게티 폭풍! 하늘에서 음식이 내린다면 어떤 일이 벌어질까? 먹을 거라고는 정어리 밖에 없는 작은 도시 `꿀꺽풍당` 섬을 위해 허당 과학자 `플린트`는 물을 음식으로 바꾸는 `수퍼음식복제기`를 발명한다. 하지만 실험도중 기계는 하늘로 날아가고, 모든 것이 실패로 돌아갔다고 생각한 순간 마을에는 맛있는 `햄버거 비`가 내리기 시작한다. 하늘로 올라간 `수퍼음식복제기`가 작동을 시작한 것. 그 때부터 섬에는 핫도그, 와플, 치킨, 아이스크림 등 맛있는 음식들이 매일매일 내리고 사람들은 달콤한 행복에 빠진다. 대박 큰 바나나, 집채 만한 팬케이크, 음식들이 점점 커진다고?! 하지만 점점 많은 음식들을 요구하는 사람들과 섬을 관광지로 개발하려는 탐욕스러운 `시장`의 욕심으로 인해 기계는 점차 멋대로 작동하기 시작한다. 그 결과 집채만한 팬케이크와 사람만한 핫도그 비가 내리는 등 점점 거대해지는 음식들로 인해 도시는 초유의 재난 상황을 맞게 된다. `플린트`는 이 사태를 해결하기 위해 음식 기상캐스터 `샘`, 옛날엔 얼짱 모델 `베이비 브렌트`, 베프 원숭이 `스티브`와 함께 기계를 파괴하기 위해 하늘로 향하는데... 지나치게(?) 맛있는 상상이 만들어낸 사상 초유의 `음식재난`이 시작된다!

폭풍우가 몰아치는 어느 밤... 네바다 주의 사막에 위치한 외딴 모텔에 10명의 사람들이 모여든다. 리무진 운전사와 그가 태우고 가던 여배우, 경찰과 그가 호송하던 살인범, 라스베이거스 매춘부와 신혼부부, 신경질적인 모텔 주인까지 포함한 총 11명. 사나운 폭풍우로 길은 사방이 막혀버리고 사람들은 어둠과 폭우가 걷히기를 기다리지만 연락이 두절된 호텔에 갇힌 이들은 하나 둘씩 살해당하기 시작한다. 죽음으로 시작된 살인의 그림자는 그들을 극도의 공포로 몰아간다. 현장에 남겨진 것이라곤 모텔 룸 넘버 10이 적힌 열쇠뿐... 연이은 죽음의 현장에는 9,8,7.. 카운트 다운을 알리는 열쇠만이 남아 끝나지 않은 살인을 예고하다. 서로가 서로를 의심하는 가운데 모두가 기억하기 싫은 비밀이 서서히 베일을 벗는데...

고등학교 1학년 여름. 외딴 섬에서 가출해, 도쿄에 온 호타카. 그러나 생활은 곧 곤란해졌고, 고독한 나날의 끝에 겨우 찾아낸 일은, 수상한 오컬트 잡지의 작가 일이었다. 그의 앞날을 시사하는 듯, 연일 쏟아지는 비. 그런 가운데, 잡담으로 북적거리는 도시 한 편에서, 호타카는 한 소녀를 만난다. 어떤 사연을 안고, 남동생과 둘이서 밝고 씩씩하게 사는 소녀, 하루나. 그녀에게는, 이상한 능력이 있었다. "저기, 지금부터 맑아질 거야." 조금씩 비가 그치고, 아름답게 빛나는 거리. 그것은 기도하는 것만으로, 하늘을 맑게 하는 힘이었다.

1988년 해리스버그. 기상캐스터인 러스 리차드는 어딜가나 유명세를 치르는 부와 명성의 인기인이다. 어느날 러스는 자신이 운영하는 스노 모빌 판매점이 너무나 따뜻한 겨울 날씨 탓에 재정 파산 위기에 처한다. 러스는 방송국 사장 딕에게 대출을 요구하지만 거절당하고 만다. 더 큰 위기에 부닥친 러스는 다시 딕을 찾고, 이번에는 복권당첨 조작의 유혹을 받는다. 결국 러스는 복권추첨 걸 크리스타과 함께 복권 조작을 모의하고, 당첨금을 찾을 대리인으로 크리스탈의 사촌 월터를 이만 달러에 포섭한다.

11번째 시간은 인류 멸망의 시간, 12시에 임박한 지구의 위기상황을 표현한 말이다. 배우 레오나르도 디카프리오는 11번째 시간을 통해 인류 위기의 근본 원인을 문명에서 찾으며 스스로 화를 자초해 멸종의 위기에 놓여 있는 인간에 대한 통찰과 생태에 대한 철학을 제시한다. 물리학자 스티븐 호킹을 비롯해 전 CIA 국장 제임스 울시, 국제녹십자를 설립한 미하일 고르바초프를 포함해 환경운동가, 저술가, 학자, 건축가, 디자이너 등 총 56인의 전문가 인터뷰로 구성된 이 다큐멘터리는 지금 위험에 처한 것은 지구가 아니라 인간임을 상기시키고 살아남으려면 변화해야 한다고 촉구한다.

As co-created by environmentalists Stephan Poulle and Nicolas Koutsikas, the documentary Gulf Stream and the Next Ice Age argues and provides evidence for the idea that mankind is wreaking permanent and potentially irreversible damage on the ecosystem by interfering with the natural course of the Gulf Stream. Koutsikas and Poulle suggest that this interference, in turn, will prompt a new Ice Age that virtually destroys the modern world.

For a book project, photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders took photographs of 30 stars of adult movies, each pair of photographs in the same pose, clothed and nude. This film records the photo shoots and includes interviews with the performers and commentary from eight writers (and John Waters).
