Magnificus the Magi (2019)

An exploration —manipulated and staged— of life in Las Hurdes, in the province of Cáceres, in Extremadura, Spain, as it was in 1932. Insalubrity, misery and lack of opportunities provoke the emigration of young people and the solitude of those who remain in the desolation of one of the poorest and least developed Spanish regions at that time. (Silent short, voiced in 1937 and 1996.)

반드리카를 여행 중인 영국인 처녀 아이리스 헨더슨은 별로 내키지 않은 약혼자와 결혼을 앞두고 귀국하려는 중이다. 역전에서 중년의 영국 부인과 알게 되는데, 이때 누군가에 의해 건물 2층에서 물건이 떨어져 머리를 다친다. 결국 열차에 오르자 마자 의식을 잃었다가 그 부인의 따뜻한 보살핌으로 깨어난다. 그후 식당칸에서 부인과 차를 마시며 이야기를 나누다가, 이름을 묻자 프로이라고 대답하는데, 기차의 기적 소리 때문에 들리지 않자 창문에 프로이라는 자신의 이름을 써서 가르쳐준다. 그런데 두통 때문에 객차에서 잠시 잠이 들었다가 깨어났을 때, 앞에 앉아있던 프로이 부인은 온데 간데 없어지고 없다. 옆에 있던 사람들도 모두들 모른다는 것이다. 식당칸에서 프로이 부인에게 설탕을 건네 주었던 컬디컷과 차터스라는 영국인은 크리켓 국제전을 보기 위해 귀국 중이었는데, 사람이 없어져 열차가 늦어질 까봐 자신들도 못봤다고 대답한다. 그리고 애인과 밀애를 즐기던 토드헌터 부부라는 사람도 이것이 사람들에게 알려질까봐 못봤다고 대답해, 결국 사람들은 아이리스가 착각한 것으로만 생각한다. 이에 아이리스는 자신이 착각한 것일지도 모른다고 생각하는데, 식당칸의 창문에 프로이라는 글자를 보고는 꿈이 아님을 알게 된다. 이때 전날 여관에서 시끄럽게 했다고 다투었던 음악가 길버트와 만나게 되어 그와 함께 프로이 부인을 찾아나서게 된다. 이때 명성 높은 독일 의사 하르츠 박사와 알게 되는데, 그가 비밀 정보를 알고 있는 프로이 부인을 독일로 빼돌리려는 음모를 꾸민 장본인이었다.

날카로운 면도날이 여자의 눈을 향하고, 거침없이 눈을 잘라낸다. 손 위에 우글거리는 개미들과 죽은 당나귀를 실은 그랜드피아노를 끌어당기는 남자 등 기묘한 이미지의 파편들이 이어진다. 루이스 부뉴엘과 초현실주의 화가 살바도르 달리가 함께 시나리오를 쓴 부뉴엘의 데뷔작이다. 줄거리가 잡히지 않는 기괴한 이미지들의 나열은 지금까지도 충격과 공포를 안겨주며, 초현실주의의 진정한 걸작으로 남아있다. 여자의 눈을 잘라내는 남자는 바로 부뉴엘 자신이다.

세계 제3차 대전이 발발한다. 파리의 오를레이 공항에 있는 한 산책로에서 다보스 헨릭이라는 남자가 헬렌 카텔린이란 여자를 바라보는데 원자 폭탄이 폭발한다. 그 후 영화는 핵 쓰레기로 가득찬 지상을 떠나 사람들의 지하 생활을 보여준다. 지하 생활자들은 더 이상의 파괴를 막기 위해 '과거와 미래를 오갈 수 있는' 약을 가지고 과거와 미래 세계의 사람들을 보내지만 결국 다보스 만이 성공한다. 68혁명에 대한 크리스 마커의 입장과 함께, 영화-이미지가 시간과 기억과 맺고 있는 관계성을 매체의 본질에서부터 추적하는 마르케의 작업물들을 대표하는 작품이다.

A butcher in Paris takes his revenge after his daughter is brutally attacked.

A young man journeys through a desert, where he is kidnapped by a sadistic stranger clad in a pig mask. The stranger proceeds to brutally torture the young man, who then finds himself escaping into his imagination, with fantasy and reality intersecting.

Working men and women leave through the main gate of the Lumière factory in Lyon, France. Filmed on 22 March 1895, it is often referred to as the first real motion picture ever made, although Louis Le Prince's 1888 Roundhay Garden Scene pre-dated it by seven years. Three separate versions of this film exist, which differ from one another in numerous ways. The first version features a carriage drawn by one horse, while in the second version the carriage is drawn by two horses, and there is no carriage at all in the third version. The clothing style is also different between the three versions, demonstrating the different seasons in which each was filmed. This film was made in the 35 mm format with an aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and at a speed of 16 frames per second. At that rate, the 17 meters of film length provided a duration of 46 seconds, holding a total of 800 frames.

남북전쟁이 끝난 후 남아도는 대포를 처리하는 방법을 연구하다가 큰 대포를 만들어 안에다가 사람을 태운 우주선을 집어 넣고 달로 쏘아 올리기로 결정한다. 사람들에게 환송을 받으며 천문학자를 태운 로켓이 대포로 발사되고 곧 로켓은 달에 착륙한다. 천문학자는 달에 도착하자마자 잠을 자고, 일어나고 나서 동굴로 가자 거대한 버섯을 발견한다. 한 천문학자가 우산을 펼치자 곧바로 버섯으로 변해 버린다. 이때 외계인이 나타나지만 천문학자는 이를 쉽게 죽인다. 곧 더 많은 외계인이 나타나서 천문학자들은 둘러싸이게 되고, 외계인은 그들을 잡아 우두머리에게 데리고 간다. 천문학자들이 우두머리를 죽이고 도망친다. 다섯 명이 비행선 안으로 들어가고 나머지 한 명은 절벽에 걸친 비행선에 달린 로프에 매달려 비행선을 우주로 떨어뜨린다. 우주선은 지구로 떨어져 바다에 빠진다. 천문학자들은 구조되어 큰 환대를 받는다.

제2차 세계대전이 끝난 지 10여년이 지나 버려진 수용소의 현재 모습은 흑백의 기록화면으로 이어진다. 12년 전 빈 들판엔 수용소 건설이 진행되었고 ‘밤과 안개’ 작전으로 유대인들이 수감되기 시작했다.

A Warrior's Dream is a 3D animated short film with photorealistic visual style. The length of the film is 3'18' .The story is about a martial artist's combat with his imaginary opponent. The martial artist finally realized that the mightiest opponent is himself. The film ends with Bruce Lee's calligraphy 'Walk On'. Thus the director wishes Donnie Yen can walk on as a martial artist like Bruce Lee, the idol of Donnie Yen himself.

《Fate 시리즈》 중 한 작품. 비주얼 노벨 《Fate/stay night》의 원안에서 비롯된 작품으로, 현재 일부만 발표된 상태. 이전부터 Fate/stay night에는 '세이버는 원래 남자였다'는 식으로 원안의 존재가 여기저기에서 암시되어 왔다. 그 설정이 본격적으로 공개된 것은 《Character Material》에서였으며, 이때는 통칭 『구 Fate』라는 이름으로 불렸다. 그리고 그 원안에 기반한 다이제스트 영상이 Fate/Prototype이라는 이름으로 2011년 12월 말 코믹마켓에서 배포된 《카니발 판타즘》 Vol.3의 특전으로서 제작되었다.
