The film also documents Metz's return to South Africa at the age of 90 to retrace his original journey. Toquinho is a young man living in Marechal Hermes, a poor neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, together with his widow mother and a younger sister. Although he is poor, he is also ambitious, and wants to change his life. He spends all his time on the beach, at Arpoador, Ipanema, where he dreams to become a famous surfer. Besides, he usually finds Patricia there, a rich and liberated young woman, whom he likes a lot. To impress Patricia and satisfy some of her wishes, he lets himself be seduced by André, a gay guy who, in return for his sexual favors, promises him a trip to Hawaii for a surf championship.
Four friends take a road trip to kick back, hit the pubs, and go surfing. Tension builds among the group between Sandy, a quiet young man who is angered by the obnoxious, womanizing Boo who seduces a teenaged girl while on their trip in one of his usual one night stands. Meanwhile, the girl's psychotic dad is also looking for Boo out of revenge for what he did to his daughter. Boo is in for a major wake up call.

쟈니(Johnny: 어니 레이스 주니어 분)와 아담(Adam: 니콜라스 코완 분)은 켈리포니아주 베니스 해양가에서 조그만 식당을 운영하는 양아버지와 함께 평화롭게 살고 있다. 그러던 어느날 닌자들의 습격을 받게 되는데 갑자기 나타난 정체 불명의 사나이의 도움으로 무사히 피신을 한다. 또한 쟈니와 아담은 이 사나이를 통해서 자기들이 남지나해의 한 섬나라인 파투산의 왕위 계승자인 것을 알게 되며, 이들의 부모는 어렸을 적에 악당 치대령에 의해 살해 당했다는 것을 알게 된다. 그때 이들을 데리고 탈출한 왕의 심복이 바로 이 정체 불명의 사나이인 것이다. 며칠 후, 수많은 닌자들이 다시 식당을 습격하는데 그 와중에 이들은 간신히 탈출하고 양 아버지는 닌자들에 의해 납치 당한다. 결국 이들은 항상 자기들을 지켜주는 정체 불명의 사나이를 쫓아 고향인 파투산으로 돌아가기로 결심하고 먼 여행길을 떠난다. 마침내 이들은 파투산에 도착하고 많은 백성들이 치 대령에 시달리고 있는 것을 알게 된다. 쟈니는 세력을 규합하여 치 대령을 타도할 계획을 세운다. 한편 사면이 바다로 둘러쌓인 치 대령의 본거지가 결코 만만치 않다는 것을 알게 되며 새로운 기습 방법을 강구하게 된다. 드디어 수백명에 이르는 전사들은 써프 보드를 타고 공격을 감행하게 되며, 치 대령의 군대와 마지막 결전을 벌이게 된다.

Uncharted Waters is a feature-length documentary about Australian surfing legend, Wayne Lynch. It traces his upbringing in the seaside town of Lorne on Victoria's South-Western coast and his turbulent experiences as a 'conscientious objector' on the run from conscription and the Vietnam war. Ultimately it is about an extremely gifted individual with an intense connection to the Southern Ocean, whose approach to surfing has been a spiritual journey, often putting him at odds with the surfing sub-culture and society in general.
