Five Indigenous women filmmakers from across Canada challenge one another to make a film under a set of restrictions tailored to each filmmaker.

A social statement on the irreversible and detrimental impact of gas and oil exploration on our planet and in particular the impact that hydraulic fracturing or 'fracking' will have on Kainaiwa, or the Blood Reserve in Canada. This film was shot with a completely Indigenous cast and crew.

Maria is an unconventional single mother of three children, who's got a cool grip on her life. Three demanding children and a strong career seem to be plenty. Men are certainly a finished chapter. Until Fredrik suddenly appears. He's interesting, attractive and mature; all in all quite perfect for Maria. Finally there is a reason to believe in love again. But then Jonas appears. He's charming, very funny and 25 years old. Maria starts to lose her control, and falls in love. This all gets very complicated when her ex-husband Lasse returns, demanding full custody of the children.

Marianne, a young Canadian nurse living as an expatriate in Switzerland, is traumatized by a violent incident and becomes lost in the Alps. In time, a Swiss engineer working in the mountains discovers her; he gives her a place to stay and slowly gains her trust as she regains her health. However, he soon discovers she's wanted by the law, and circumstances become difficult for him as he tries to hide her from the authorities.

This French-Belgian drama, based on a novel by Odon von Horvath, is set in 1938 in a German city along the banks of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers. It attempts to provide insight as to why certain German youths were so easily lead into becoming Nazis by using two narrators, one a teacher who challenged the movement and another by a student who embraced it. Pabst teaches a group of teenage boys, all of whom seem to be young Nazis. The trouble begins when Pabst and a WW I vet are assigned to take the class to a military camp and a nature outing for urban kids. While there a boy is brutally murdered and they blame one local girl. During her trial, Pabst speaks out against Hitler and becomes pariah. Still he continues investigating the death, at great personal expense until at last he brings the real killer to justice.

The 90's in Brussels, Belgium. Two rather bored young couples play tennis, but sex and love will disturb their lives thoroughly.

1950년대 네바다 주, 비비안 벨 교수가 이혼을 위해 도착한다.그녀는 자신의 결혼에 만족하지 못하고, 자신이 있는 목장에서 어울리지 않는다고 느끼며, 점점 더 개방적이고 자신감 있는 레즈비언인 목장 주인의 딸 케이 리버스에게 끌리고 있다는 것을 알게 된다.그들의 친밀감으로 인해 표출된 감정들과 케이리버스에 대한 그녀의 감정에 대한 비비안의 불안감은 바위가 많은 풍경과 컨트리 음악, 그리고 웨스턴 송들을 배경으로 펼쳐진다. 미국 주류 영화계에 레즈비언 로맨스 영화의 물꼬를 틔워 준 '컬트' 영화. 영화 자체의 예술성을 떠나 그보다도 '예술', '대안'에 대한 야심 없이 통속적으로 재미있는 레즈비언 로맨스 영화를 만듦으로써 주류 영화계에서 가시성을 확보하고 수많은 LGBT 관객들에게 소통의 창구를 부여했다는 점에서 중요한 영화. 세상을 바꾸는 것은 '시네마'의 최전선에 위치한 '걸작'들이 아니라 이런 영화들이다. 반대로 말하자면 한 영화가 세상에 미치는 영향의 정도는 그 영화의 우수성을 가늠하는 절대적인 기준이 되기는 어렵다는 얘기이기도 하겠지만. 아무튼, 통속적이지만 대중성이 있는 흥행작이다.

Beyond Silence is about a family and a young girl’s coming of age story. This German film looks into the lives of the deaf and at a story about the love for music. A girl who has always had to translate speech into sign language for her deaf parents yet when her love for playing music grows strong she must decide to continue doing something she cannot share with her parents.

에스마는 딸 사라를 혼자 키우고 있다. 그녀는 딸의 수학여행 경비를 벌기 위해 시내의 나이트 클럽에 웨이트리스로 취직을 해야 할 정도로 고달픈 삶을 살고 있다. 하지만 자신이 상이용사의 딸이라고 철석같이 믿고 있는 사라는 전사자 가족에게 수학여행 경비가 면제된다는 얘기를 듣고 엄마에게 아버지의 전사증명서를 받아오자고 한다. 에스마는 진실을 말해줄 수 없어 망설이지만 결국 사라가 출생의 비밀을 알게 되고 모녀는 갈등한다.

베컴의 팬이자 축구선수를 꿈꾸는 인도계 제스와 역시 축구선수를 꿈꾸는 줄스라는 18살짜리 두 소녀에 관한 이야기. 어디서나 그렇지만 이들이 사는 곳에서도 여자들이 축구를 한다는 사실에 대해서 가족들의 시선이 곱지만은 않다. 제스의 부모는 딸이 축구를 그만두고 요리나 배워 시집가기를 바라고, 줄스의 부모는 딸이 적당한 직업을 찾아 보편적인 기준의 삶을 가기를 바라고 있다. 하지만 질풍노도의 시기를 살고 있는 두 소녀는 부모의 말에는 관심이 없고, 축구코치인 조를 통해 자신들의 꿈을 키워간다.
