River Rites (2011)

Cremaster 5 (55 min, 1997) is a five-act opera (sung in Hungarian) set in late-ninteenth century Budapest. The last film in the series, Cremaster 5 represents the moment when the testicles are finally released and sexual differentiation is fully attained. The lamenting tone of the opera suggests that Barney invisions this as a moment of tragedy and loss. The primary character is the Queen of Chain (played by Ursula Andress). Barney, himself, plays three characters who appear in the mind of the Queen: her Diva, Magician, and Giant. The Magician is a stand-in for Harry Houdini, who was born in Budapest in 1874 and appears as a recurring character in the Cremaster cycle.

Witch’s Cradle is an unfinished Maya Deren film made in the Guggenheim Gallery during a surrealist “Art of this Century” exhibit. It was assembled long after her death by staffers within the preservation department at Anthology Film Archives.

Alex's wife, Emma, knows about the affair and is considering divorce, while Rose's girlfriend secretly spies on her and attempts to sabotage the relationship. The four storylines in the film were each shot in one take and are shown simultaneously, each taking up a quarter of the screen.

A lonely hairdresser watches the title sequence of "That Cold Day in the Park" then visits a local park to invite a down-and-out skinhead to his apartment. He draws the silent man a bath and talks to him as he soaks. He locks his guest in a bedroom. Next day, the skinhead leaves through the window and visits his sister, who's making a film called "Sisters of the SLA." He helps with a screen-test. The hairdresser has dreams and fantasies involving the skinhead, the skinhead returns to visit him, and then the filmmaker pays a call on the two men, exposing her brother as faking his silence and pretending a lack of sexual interest. Fantasies can come true.

An attempt to bring the work of surrealist artists to a wider public. The plot is that of an average Joe who can conjure up dreams that will improve his customer's lives. This frame story serves as a link between several avant-garde sequences created by leading visual artists of their day, most of whom were emigres to the US during WWII.

A story of a group of humanoid rabbits and their depressive, daily life. The plot includes Suzie ironing, Jane sitting on a couch, Jack walking in and out of the apartment, and the occasional solo singing number by Suzie or Jane. At one point the rabbits also make contact with their “leader”.

The Short Films of David Lynch (2002) is a DVD collection of the early student and commissioned film work of American filmmaker David Lynch. As such, the collection does not include Lynch's later short work, which are listed in the filmography. The films are listed in chronological order, with brief descriptions of each film. Shot in 1959, Scotch Tape is Jack Smith's first film -- a joyous, three-minute romp, in color, using Peter Duchin's rhumba "Carinhoso" for its soundtrack. Three young men merrily bop through the wreckage of razed buildings at the site of what would become Lincoln Center. Apparently, Scotch Tape was never edited and, instead, was cut in the camera by Smith, combining long shots and close-ups while filming mostly from overhead. The title comes from a small strip of scotch tape that was accidentally stuck on the camera and so is visible in the lower-right corner of the frame throughout the film.

윌(Will Parker: 매튜 모딘 분)과 케이트(Kate Bass: 제니퍼 그레이 분)는 호주의 스완강에서 열렸던 한 요트 경기에서 호주 제일의 요트레이서 잭 네빌(Jack Neville: 잭 톰슨 분)에게 패배한다. 윌은 사랑하는 케이트를 떠나 세기의 도전을 위해 거쳐야만 하는 격렬한 훈련 생활에 들어간다. 그리고 우연히 아비게일(Abigail Weld: 레베카 밀러 분)이라는 소녀를 만나 호감을 갖게 된다. 한편 윌은 보스톤으로부터 케이트를 만나러 오지만 오랜만에 만나는 그들 사이엔 어색한 감정이 감돈다. 또한 윌이 아메리칸 컵 대회에서 '레이디언스'의 모사가 된다는 것을 듣고 케이트는 화를 내며 MIT로 돌아간다. 그녀에게는 새 애인 죠 헤이져(Joe Heiser: 스텔란 스카스거드 분)가 생기게 된다. 윌도 아비게일과의 사이에 애정이 싹트기 시작한다. 그후 윌은 헤이져를 도와 그들의 꿈인 '제로니모'호를 만드는데 열중한다. 개막식 날 격납고의 문을 열자 찬란하게 칠해진 '제로니모'호가 모습을 드러낸다. 여기서 윌과 케이트는 우여곡적 끝에 한팀을 이루어 경기에 참가하게 된다. 한편 아비게일과 윌은 경기 도중의 사고로 심하게 싸우고 마침내 숨막히는 최종 결승전의 팡파레가 울리는데...

낯선 세계의 기묘한 노인 무리를 찍은 이 작품은, 이들의 가학적이고 원초적인 행동들을 여과 없이 보여준다. 수시로 등장하는 방뇨·자위·반달리즘 등 도덕성의 한계를 넘어선 행위들을 이해하긴 쉽지 않으나, 마치 로우파이 비디오테이프 같은 느낌의 화면을 따라가다 보면 이들이 그들만의 세상에서 그들만의 유희를 즐기고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그 유희를 관찰하는 감독의 시선은, 사진작가 다이안 아버스가 피사체를 바라보던 시선과 닮았다.

오샤레는 오늘도 친구들과 함께 여름방학 계획을 짜느라 여념이 없다. 방과 후 집으로 돌아온 그녀를 맞이하는 아빠, 이탈리아에서 돌아온 아빠가 반갑지만 아빠 옆에는 곧 새 엄마가 될 낯선 여자가 서 있다. 충격에 휩싸인 오샤레는 문득 생각난 시골 이모댁에 편지 한 통을 보낸다. 여름방학이 오고 오샤레는 7명의 친구들과 함께 시골 이모 집을 방문하기로 한다. 정겨운 시골의 분위기와 따뜻하게 맞아주는 이모는 도시밖에 몰랐던 오샤레와 친구들에게 특별한 방학을 선사해 줄 듯 하다. 하지만 뜻 밖의 사건들이 그들을 기다리고 있다. 집 안의 물건들이 그들을 위협하기 시작하고 친구들이 하나 둘씩 사라져 간다. 위협의 정체는 바로 이모. 사랑하는 사람을 전쟁으로 잃은 채 혼자 살다가 수년 전에 죽은 이모는 자신의 원한을 풀고자 젊은 처녀들을 잡아먹기 시작한다.
