뉴 햄프셔의 작은 마을에서 조그만 피자 가게를 운영하는 롱펠로우 디즈(아담 샌들러 분)는 운명적인 사랑을 꿈꾸며 나름대로 아름다운(?) 카드 문구로 손님들을 즐겁게 해주는, 좋게 말해 순수하고, 솔직히 말해 조금은 어리숙한 청년이다. 그러던 그에게 별안간 돈벼락이 떨어지는데, 다름아닌 뉴욕 최대 갑부인 외삼촌이 처자식은 고사하고 마땅한 상속자도 없이 세상을 뜬 것. 외삼촌이 남긴 재산은 풋볼팀과 야구팀, 그리고 방송사까지 가지고 있는 거대한 미디어 그룹 블레이크. 자산이 무려 400억 달러다. 마을 사람들의 축하를 받으며, 촌뜨기 청년 '디즈'가 뉴욕으로 상경한다. 메아리가 울리는 거대한 저택과 양말까지 신겨 주려는 하인, 멋진 리무진. 그런 그에게 고향 마을에선 구경도 못해 본 아리따운 여자(위노나 라이더 분)를 만나 사랑에 빠지는데...

비행기 고장으로 사막에 불시착하게 된 한 조정사(리차드 카일리 분)는 이상한 소년(스티븐 워너 분)을 만나게 된다. 그 소년은 조정사에게 양을 그려 달라고 부탁한다. 그 소년은 자신이 사는 작은 별에 사랑하는 장미꽃을 남겨두고 인생을 배우기 위해 여행길에 오른 어린 왕자였다. 어린 왕자는 몇 개의 별을 순례한 후 지구로 와서 보아뱀과 여우, 그리고 조정사를 만난다. 여우는 외로운 어린 왕자에게 ‘길들여진다는 것'에 관한 이야기를 들려준다. 서로에게 특별한 존재가 된 여우와 어린 왕자. 어린 왕자는 자신만의 특별한 장미꽃이 존재한다는 사실을 깨닫고 자신의 별로 돌아간다.

As in the classic fable, the grasshopper plays his fiddle and lives for the moment, while the industrious ants squirrel away massive amounts of food for the winter. With his song, he's able to convince at least one small ant until the queen arrives and scares him back to work. The queen warns the grasshopper of the trouble he'll be in, come winter. Winter comes, and the grasshopper, near starvation, stumbles across the ants, who are having a full-on feast in their snug little tree. They take him in and warm him up. The Tortoise and the Hare is an animated short film released on January 5, 1935 by United Artists, produced by Walt Disney and directed by Wilfred Jackson. Based on an Aesop's fable of the same name, The Tortoise and the Hare won the 1934 Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons. This cartoon is also believed to be one of the influences for Bugs Bunny.
