1941년 나치 독일의 침공으로 베오그라드와 세르비아 전체는 혼란에 빠지고 국민들은 전의를 불태우며 저항한다. 블랙키와 마르코는 지하에서 무기를 제조하고 밀매하며 돈을 벌고 있었는데 전쟁으로 지하 생활을 시작한 파르티잔 가족들은 마르코와 블랙키를 전쟁 영웅으로 착각한다. 전쟁의 소용돌이 속에서도 자신의 입지를 굳힌 블랙키는 여배우 나탈리아를 강제로 데려다 결혼식을 하지만 곧 독일군 장교인 프란츠에게 그녀를 빼앗긴다. 평소부터 나탈리아에 흑심을 품은 마르코는 블랙키를 구출하여 지하 세계에 은신시키고 나탈리아와 결혼 생활을 즐기는 한편, 전쟁이 끝나고 티토 정부가 들어서자 내각에 입각하여 전쟁 영웅 대접을 받는다. 마르코는 자신의 지위를 고수하기 위해 지하 세계의 블랙키를 비롯한 모든 사람들에게 전쟁이 끝났다는 사실을 알려주지 않는다. 이후 지하 세계는 점점 지상과 마찬가지로 완벽한 생활 체계를 구축하며 전쟁 준비를 계속하게 되는데...

나치 독일이 유고슬라비아 왕국을 침공하기 하루 전인 1941년 4월 5일, 다양한 승객들이 시골에서 수도 베오그라드로 향하고 있다.

An old man named Zivojin Markovic, living in a remote village prays for his grandson Cane to go to the city, sell his cow and bring back a wife. In the city he is supposed to meet up with his grandfather's stepbrother, but this man is dead. Instead, he meets this man's two grandsons, two good-natured brothers who are nevertheless small-time criminals and experts in demolition. Cane soon clicks with these men, and also falls in love with a schoolgirl (Jasna), who he wants to marry as part of his testament with his grandfather. He gets involved in this girl's family affairs, rescuing both her and her mother from prostitution and gangsters headed by a man called Bajo, and the new group of people return to the small village in time to celebrate Zivojin's wedding to his neighbor, despite the gangsters' best efforts to stop the celebration, which results in a double wedding.

Sara, a former hacker and now an Internet security specialist, has come to Belgrade to attend a conference on cyber crime. Whilst she is there her daughter and a college friend are kidnapped by a Serbian human trafficking ring. Will Sara be able to save them before it's too late?

A young student Braca is trying to seduce a beautiful model Iris. Although they are from two different worlds, they both try not to show it. In another story, Šomi and Duje anxiously follow the football match between Manchester and Eastwich. They bet on Eastwich, because their childhood friend Kengur is their goalkeeper. The plot of the third story takes place on the roof of the solitaire, where Avaks and Hibrid are wasting time in anticipation of something happening.

Year 1993, the bleakest time of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A group of actors from Belgrade, utterly unaware of what they're setting themselves up for, embark on a search for quick earnings - on a "tour" around the Serbian Krajina. However, there they are thrust into the heart of war and begin to wander from war front to war front, from one army to the next.

A Serbian engineer falls for a younger woman, but he is inept at courtship.

Middle-aged cinephile and film projectionist Pera still lives with his mother - and best friend - Mara, in Belgrade. It's 1999 and when NATO bombs start raining down on Serbia, the two of them become refugees. After a surreal journey, they end up in New York, where Pera realizes that he can no longer do the old job he loved so much. While he and Mara were struggling to survive, the new age of digital projection was born. Then Pera stumbles upon some discarded projectors and his new mission in life becomes clear: he will travel around and show people the magic of Real Cinema - the magic that can only be created by celluoid, mechanical projectors, the silver screen and flickering light.

Melita, a frustrated middle-aged woman, who by day works as an organizer of the concert evenings becomes disappointed because her lover, Brian, an American diplomat, in fact, is not the guy that he say he is.

A young man falls in love with the girl who he met by accident.

Mladen Maticevic is a 40 year old Serbian film director. In the summer of 2005, he decided to try and run the full marathon race on the next Belgrade Marathon, in the spring of 2006. This film depicts his struggle to train, lose weight, learn the tactics and eventually win the race. His family doubts that such feat is possible while friends both encourage him and discourage him to pull it off. Suddenly the whole marathon run becomes a metaphor for everyday struggles in post-Communist Belgrade.

A frustrated and unemployed architect experiences flashbacks of his youth and 1968 protests while the life passes by. Unable to adapt and to accept the reality, he’s constantly getting into conflicts with the people around him.

A flat broke aging boxer, living on the verge of existence, teams up with the equally desperate people in the city's suburbia to steal, cheat, and even kill for the money.

In the suburban environment of 1960s Belgrade, thieves and vagabonds were first who escaped from poverty, while simple individuals who believed in ideals, paid a costly price for their misconceptions. Life is very difficult to a family of a pilot who spent 14 years in prison on the basis of false testimony. Her husband's prosecution is his wife's fate, while his daughter doesn't even know that her father is alive. After many migrations and wanderings, the mother meets a soft-spoken yet unscrupulous man who'll promise her marriage, and rape her daughter. The mother eventually ends up at asylum, and the father returns from prison at the right time to help their daughter in life which crucial lessons she already mastered.
