A revisionist western, "Doc" is Frank Perry's attempt to accurately portray the lives and persons of Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, and the now-legendary events that took place in the town of Tombstone, starring Stacy Keach, Faye Dunaway and Harris Yulin.

Former buffalo hunter and entrepreneur Wyatt Earp arrives in the lawless cattle town of Wichita Kansas. His skill as a gun-fighter makes him a perfect candidate for Marshal, but he refuses the job until he feels morally obligated to bring law and order to this wild town.

Robert Ryan plays an aging sheriff responsible for law and order in a frontier cattle town. Virginia Mayo plays his fiancee. As if handling wild cattle drovers isn't enough, a crooked casino operator from Ryan's past comes to town. An early scuffle in the casino leaves Ryan with vision problems that interfere with his duties. Jeffrey Hunter who came to town with a cattle drive encounters Ryan, who killed Hunter's father when Hunter was young. Feelings of animosity soon change as Hunter begins to sense Ryan is telling the truth about his father. What follows is a plot that continues to thicken to the inevitable showdown.

Temple Houston (Sam Houston's son) who is the DA with a sense of Justice. He is located in Fort Smith, Ark and works with Judge Parker in 1872. His area includes the Oklahoma Territory which was the Indian territory at that time. Chief Buffalo Horn who is falsely accused of murder.

During a ride with his new pony Sinoya, the young Clay Gibson by chance finds the secret housing of the multiple murderer Tris Hatten. He reports immediately to Sheriff Adams, who strongly recommends him not to tell anybody about it. Unfortunately Clay talks to his father nevertheless. He believes Adams just wanted fame and reward for himself and accuses him in the newspaper. 카우보이 스타 탐 믹스(Tom Mix: 브루스 윌리스 분)는 유명한 개척시대의 와트업 보안관역을 맡기로 헐리우드의 명제작자 알프린(Alfie Alperin: 말콤 맥도웰 분)과 계약을 맺는다. 영화의 대대적인 홍보를 위해 와트 업(Wyatt Earp: 제임스 가너 분)을 초청 함께 지내는 동안에 탐 믹스와 와트 업은 서로 친해진다. 알프린의 부인 크리스티나(Christina Alperin: 패트리시아 호지 분)의 요청으로 그녀의 아들 마이클(Michael Alperin: 더못 멀로니 분)을 보호하기로 한 와트 업은 탐과 함께 캔디 스토어(Candy Store)를 찾아간다. 그러나 그곳에서 송곳에 찔린 채로 죽어있는 캔디와 인사불성으로 취해있는 마이클을 발견하는 탐과 와트. 마이클은 살인혐의로 구속이 되고 탐과 와트는 그들이 도착하기 직전 사라졌던 검은 캐딜락에 의문을 품고 여러가지 정황증거를 수집하기 시작한다. 탐과 와트는 필사적으로 크리스티나와 와트의 만남을 알프린과 블랙워즈 서장(Captain Blackworth: 리차드 브래포드 분) 가 막자 의심하는데...

남북 전쟁 직후 존라티머가 인디언들에게 총을 밀매하려 하면서 이야기가 시작된다. 이를 막기 위해 서부 개척자의 정의로운 사내 대장부인 빌 힉콕과 그의 친구 버팔로 빌 코디는 그를 쫓는다. 시끄러운 칼라미티 제인은 빌 힉콕을 사랑하지만, 빌은 그런 그녀를 피하고만 싶다. 그는 여자나 가정 그리고 결혼에 대한 생각보다 자유로운 생활이 아직 더 좋다. 빌은 인디언들과 평화롭게 지내려 했으나 칼라미티가 인디언들에게 붙잡히자 마음을 바꾼다. 그녀를 구하려 가다가 빌 힉콕 자신이 붙잡히게 되고 칼라미티가 그를 구한다. 결국 빌은 라티머를 처라하지만, 다른 사람에게 죽음을 당한다.

Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill Hickok join forces to establish a mail route that can get mail from St. Joseph, Missouri, to Sacramento, California, in ten days. Along the way they must battle bad weather, hostile Indians and outlaws intent on robbing the mail and shutting down the entire operation.

Story follows a stagecoach ride through Old West Apache territory. On board are a cavalry man's pregnant wife, a prostitute with a broken heart, a Marshal taking in his prisoner Johnny Ringo, a crooked gambler, and the infamous Doc Holliday

Marshal Wyatt Earp kills a couple of men of the Clanton-gang in a fight. In revenge Clanton's thugs kill the marshal's brother. Thus, Wyatt Earp starts to chase the killers together with his friend Doc Holliday.

Fleeing to Dodge City after killing a man in self defence Masterson finds his brother Ed (Harry Lauter) running for sheriff of the town. When Ed is killed by hired guns of the corrupt incumbent Bat is determined to settle the score with violence but he is convinced by the townspeople that the best way to avenge his brother's death is by taking Ed's place on the ballot. Bat agrees and wins the election but his new role on the right side of the law will lead him to unexpected confrontations as he finds himself torn between his loyalties to his friends and his duties as sheriff.

An outlaw must decide whether to stick his neck out for an innocent man.

Young rancher Kirby Frye is appointed deputy in a small town tyrannized by ruthless Phil Sundeen, the son of one of the founders of the town.

Wyatt Earp agrees to become marshal and establish order in Tombstone in this very romanticized version of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
