Suddenly, Last Summer (2013)

월레스와 그로밋은 최고의 빵집이라는 가게를 시작하고, 매일 아침 맛있는 빵을 구워 여기저기 배달을 한다. 어느 날 배달 도중에 자전거 브레이크가 고장나 위기에 처한 여인 파이엘라 베이크웰을 구해주게 된 월레스. 그녀는 그 사건 이후로 월레스와 친하게 지내다가 점점 사랑이 싹트게 된다. 그로밋 또한 그녀의 애완견인 플러플과 묘한 감정이 싹튼다. 한편 마을에서는 빵집 주인만을 노린 연쇄살인이 벌어지지만, 당사자인 월레스는 파이엘라 에 푹 빠진 나머지 전혀 상관하지 않는다. 과연 그로밋은 월레스가 다음 희생양이 되기 전에 연쇄살인범의 정체를 밝혀낼 수 있을까?

런던 근교. 엉성한 발명품만 만들어내는 발명가 월레스는 생활비를 충당하기 위해 창문닦이 서비스를 하고 있다. 월레스의 영리하고 충직한 애견 그로밋은 전자공학에서 도스토예프스키까지 읽는 식견 높은 개다. 그로밋의 생일을 맞자 월레스는 전자바지를 선물한다. 첨단 공법으로 만든 전자바지는 그로밋의 산책은 물론 무슨 일이든 척척 해내는 만능바지. 그러나 이 선물 제작에 많은 돈을 쓴 나머지 생활비가 부족하자 하숙을 놓게 된다. 광고를 보고 세를 든 동거인은 야비한 성격의 수배범 펭귄 맥그로우. 자신의 위치를 빼앗긴 그로밋은 가출을 하기에 이르는데...

공룡과 산토끼가 오순도순 정답게 살던 아주 옛날, 옛날, 머어어언 옛날... 엉뚱하고 발랄한 얼리맨들이 모여 사는 평화로운 석기 마을이 있다. 작은 토끼 대신 겁나 큰 매머드를 사냥하고픈 용감한 소년 ‘더그’(에디 레드메인)와 그의 베프 멧돼지 ‘호그놉’은 이 마을의 핵심 사고뭉치! 어느 날, 세계 정복을 꿈꾸는 청동기 왕국의 허당 악당 ‘누스’(톰 히들스턴) 총독이 쳐들어 오고 석기 마을은 그의 손에 넘어가버린다. 마을을 되찾고 싶은 ‘더그’와 ‘호그놉’에게 ‘누스’총독은 엄청난 대결을 제안한다. ‘더그’와 ‘호그놉’은 청동기 왕국의 ‘구나’(메이지 윌리암스)를 리더로 영입하고 친구들을 모아 오합지졸 팀을 꾸리는데… ‘더그’팀은 의욕 제로, 자신감 제로인 팀을 이끌고 석기 마을 VS 청동기 왕국의 인류 최초, 한.판.승.부에서 이길 수 있을까?

크래커에 치즈를 얹어 먹는 것을 가장 좋아하는 월레스는 어느날 벽장에 치즈가 떨어진 것을 발견한다. 휴가철이 되자 월레스와 그로밋은 휴가지를 고르다 치즈가 가득한 달로 목적지를 정한다. 지하실에서 만든 로켓을 타고 달에 도착한 둘은 피크닉을 하며 여기저기 산책을 하다 우연히 홀로 남겨진 이상한 기계를 발견한다. 호기심에 동전을 넣어보지만 작동을 하지 않자 투덜거리며 기계 곁을 떠난다. 몇 초 후 동전을 넣은 탓인지 갑자기 움직이기 시작한 기계는 달 여기저기를 돌아다니며 치즈를 먹는 월레스를 보고 달을 망치는 중이라고 생각하는데...

신문을 읽고 있던 그로밋은 월레스에게 신문을 보여주면서 걱정한다. 신문마다 양털이 부족한 사태로 떠들썩하고, 한편으론 양들이 계속 어디론가 실종되는 사건이 벌어지고 있는 것. 한편 그 즈음 부업으로 창문닦이 서비스를 하고 있던 월레스와 그로밋은 털실가게를 운영하는 웬돌린이라는 여인으로부터 가게의 쇼윈도우를 닦아달라는 요청을 받게 되고, 월레스는 웬돌린에게 한눈에 반해 버린다. 그리고 그녀의 반려견 프레스톤은 꺼림칙하게 둘을 바라본다. 그러던 어느 날 이상한 양 한 마리가 집에 찾아오는데...

스키드로우의 꽃가게 점원인 시모아 크레르몽(릭 모라니스 분)은 어릴 때 자신을 데려다 키운 주인 마슈닝(빈센트 가드니아 분)에게 하인처럼 혹사당한다. 그런 시모아의 유일한 안식처는 여점원 오드리(엘렌 그린 분)지만 그녀에게는 안타깝게도 오린 스크리베리(스티브 마틴 분)라는 애인이 있다. 어떤 일식날 시모아는 이상한 꽃을 사서 '오드리2'라는 이름을 붙여 기른다. 그 독특한 모습의 '오드리2'에 대한 소문은 금방 퍼져 가게는 고객들로 연일 붐비고 시모아는 매스컴의 세례를 받는 유명인이 된다. 그런데 어느날 시모아가 무심코 오드리 2를 만지자 그것이 손가락끝에 달라 붙어 피를 쪽쪽 빠는 것이 아닌가. 알고보니 그것은 흡혈식물이었던 것. 식물은 점점 커지면서 더 많은 피를 요구하는데...

마이클 잭슨의 실황 공연 장면과 잭슨이 주인공으로 등장하는 환상적인 이야기들로 구성된 작품이다. 이 영화에는 마이클의 삶과 어린아이들이 '배드'를 부르는 패러디비디오의 몽타주 장면, 환상 장면에서 팬들에게 쫓기는 마이클의 모습과 함께 '맨 인 더 미러', '스무드 크리미널'과 '컴 투게더' 뮤직비디오가 포함되어 있다. 이 영화속의 영화에서 마이클은 미스터 빅이 연기하는 마약 밀매상에게 쫓기는 한편 세 어린이들을 구하는 역을 연기한다. 특히 중간중간 삽입되는 특수 효과와 C.G는 이 영화의 비주얼적인 측면을 한층 돋보이게 한다.

The setting is on a floating platform where a group of evenly and carefully placed men live. Each man is aware that the platform is not stable and in order not to fall to their deaths, they maintain a careful balance of weight to prevent the platform from tipping too far and cause them all to fall.

This short animation set to Lenny Bruce's live monologue tells how the Lone Ranger hooks up with Tonto. With Bruce doing all the voices, this animation begins with local folks upset at the Lone Ranger because he won't stay around to be thanked after a good deed. So, he stays and finds he likes hearing "Thank you mask man." When their attention starts to shift elsewhere, he shocks and disgusts the townspeople with a final request. According to the cartoon’s producer John Magnuson, at early showings of this, gay audiences were upset by its apparent “fag-bashing”. And it’s true, part of the fun of the piece is just crying out “Masked man’s a fag”, scandalising and defacing the image of this all-American hero. But it’s within the larger context of Bruce’s analysis of heroism, and that the towns people reject the Masked Man is because of their prejudices, not because Bruce is asking us to endorse them.
