크노크라는 괴상한 노인의 부동산 중개소 직원인 후터는 비스보르크라는 한 소도시에 그의 부인 엘렌과 살고 있었다. 어느날 크노크는 비스보르크에 집을 한 채 사겠다는 오를록 백작의 편지를 받고 후터를 백작의 성으로 급히 보낸다. 후터는 자신이 오랫동안 집을 비우는 것을 슬퍼하는 부인을 친구인 하딩의 집에 머무르게 하고 백작의 성을 향해 떠난다. 길을 가다 어느 덧 해가 저물어 한 여관에 머무르게 된 후터는 우연히 조그마한 책자를 발견한다. 책에는 흡혈귀에 대한 섬뜩한 이야기가 씌여 있다. 이 영화의 사이 사이에는 훗날 비스보르크에서 일어날 일을 예언이라도 하는 듯한 내용이 삽입되어 있다. 다음날 다시 백작의 성을 향해 길을 가던 도중 고갯길에 다다르자 공포감을 느낀 짐꾼들은 더 이상 가기를 거부하고 후터는 할 수 없이 혼자서 길을 떠난다. 그런데 이때 어디선가 기괴한 인상의 마부가 홀연히 나타나 후터를 목적지인 오를록 백작의 성까지 눈깜짝할 사이에 데려다 준다. 성에 도착한 후, 어딘지 섬뜩한 느낌을 주는 오를록 백작을 만나 후터는 식사대접을 받고 하룻밤을 지낸다. 다음날 목에 무언가 물린 자국이 난 것을 발견하지만 후터는 모기에게 물린 것으로 간주해 버린다. 다시 오를록 백작과 만나 집에 대한 매매 이야기를 하는 도중 우연히 백작은 후터의 부인 엘렌의 사진을 보게된다. "당신 부인의 목이 참 아름답군요"라면서 백작은 의미심장한 표정으로 후터의 바로 맞은편에 있는 집을 사겠다고 한다. 이날밤 후터는 자신의 방으로 침투해 들어오려는 혼령을 만나게 되고 혼비백산하여 지하실로 내려가게 되는데, 지하실에 놓인 관속에서 죽은 시체와 같이 누워있는 오를록 백작이 눈을 뜨고 후터를 향해 일어선다. 완전히 공포에 사로잡힌 후터는 자신이 성에 갇힌 사실을 인식하고 어떻게든 성을 빠져 나갈 궁리를 한다.

일자리가 없어 도시를 배회하는 떠돌이는 어느날 아침 산책길에서 꽃 파는 눈먼 소녀(를 만난다. 떠돌이는 마지막 동전을 털어서 꽃을 사주고, 육중한 차문 닫히는 소리에 소녀는 그를 부자로 오인한다. 소녀에게 애정을 느낀 떠돌이는 부자 행세를 하며 가깝게 지내고, 그녀의 눈을 수술할 비용을 마련해 주기로 약속한다. 어느 날 술에 취해 물에 빠진 백만장자를 구해준 떠돌이는 그와 친구가 되는데, 백만장자는 술에 취했을 때만 그를 알아보고 술이 깨면 그를 도둑으로 오인한다. 백만장자가 술에 취했을 때 소녀의 수술비를 얻어낸 떠돌이는 그가 술이 깨기 전에 달아나 소녀에게 돈을 전해주고 사라지는데...

시게이트 감옥에 수감된 트레버 슬래터리에게 잭슨 노리스란 기자가 인터뷰를 하게 된다. 트레버는 전세계적으로나 감옥 안에서나 유명인사가 되어서 나름 편하게 수감 생활을 한다. 자기 취향대로 꾸민 커다란 독실이 따로 있고, 죄수 중 덩치 큰 흑인 허먼이 그의 집사 노릇을 하면서 돌봐주며, 그를 추종하는 죄수들도 적잖게 있어 다른 죄수들이 함부로 그를 넘보지 못한다. 추종자들이 트레버에게 만다린 목소리를 내달라는 부탁을 하자, 빼는 척 하면서 결국 부탁을 들어주어 다시 만다린 연기를 보여주기도 하는데...

치타우리의 뉴욕 침공 후, 베니와 클레어란 커플이 치타우리의 무기를 습득하여 이를 조작하는 방법을 알게 된다. 이를 이용해 전국적으로 강도짓을 하는 둘을 S.H.I.E.L.D에서 주시하고 있었다. 재스퍼 시트웰은 이들이 일으킨 강도 사건 4건을 직접 조사했고, 필릭스 블레이크는 감시 카메라 자료를 모아 이들을 분석하고 있었다. 블레이크는 시트웰이 이 사건을 안이하게 여긴다고 불만을 표했고, 시트웰은 그에게 자네는 앉아서 비디오 화면이나 모으지만 현장에서 뛰는 요원들의 고생은 모른다며 전임자가 떠나 새로 발령되게 되었다 말한다. 이에 블레이크 요원은 버릇 때문에 욱했다며 사과한다. 시트웰은 이 커플에게서 무기를 회수하고 이들을 잡아오는 명령을 받게 되는데...

MORTAL KOMBAT: REBIRTH is a short film released by Kevin Tancharoen (Director) in 2010. It was originally made as a proof of concept for Tancharoen's pitch to Warner Brothers for a reboot movie franchise. This 8-minute short features an intricate fight scene choreographed by Larnell Stovall. It also reintroduces classic Mortal Kombat characters, including: Jax (Michael Jai White), Sonya Blade (Jeri Ryan), Johnny Cage (Matt Mullins), Scorpion (Ian Anthony Dale), Baraka (Lateef Crowder) and Shang Tsung (James Lew).

The setting of this fantastic scene represents the hall of an old chateau in which a miser has locked up seven large bags containing his wealth. Satan, who has made his way into the chateau, puts the seven bags in a strong box, and makes with his hands some cabalistic motions. The miser comes into the hall and is greatly astonished to find his fortune missing. He opens the coffer and immediately the bags leap out. He gathers them up and puts them back into the coffer. When he opens it again he finds that they have been transformed into seven young girls, who rush out and chase after him, beating him unmercifully. They shut him up in the coffer from which his gold has vanished. The miser pushes open the lid of the coffer, and to his profound despair finds that both young girls and money have disappeared. At the beginning of the scene Romeo in his gondola sings to Juliet a sentimental song, then goes away. Hardly has he departed when the colonnade falls to pieces, disclosing the devil. Juliet, frightened, runs to the window and calls Romeo. The latter attempts to enter and protect his fiancée, but at a gesture from the devil the window is instantly covered with a grating and Romeo makes frantic efforts to break it. The devil begins to dance a wild dance before Juliet, who is beside herself from terror. The devil gradually becomes the size of a giant (a novel effect). Juliet implores the statue of Madonna, which becomes animated, descends from its pedestal, and stretching out its arms orders the devil to disappear. (Méliès Catalog)

Marguerite is seated in front of the fireplace, Faust standing by her side. Mephistopheles enters and offers his sword to Faust, commanding him to behead the fair Marguerite. Faust refuses, whereupon Mephistopheles draws the sword across the throat of the lady and she suddenly disappears and Faust is seated in her place.

A weary traveler stops at an inn along the way to get a good night's sleep, but his rest is interrupted by odd happenings when he gets to his room--beds vanishing and re-appearing, candles exploding, pants flying through the air and his shoes walking away by themselves.

Georges Méliès makes a woman disappear, then reappear.

One of the greatest of black art pictures. The conjurer appears before the audience, with his head in its proper place. He then removes his head, and throwing it in the air, it appears on the table opposite another head, and both detached heads sing in unison. The conjurer then removes it a third time. You then see all three of his heads, which are exact duplicates, upon the table at one time, while the conjurer again stands before the audience with his head perfectly intact, singing in unison with the three heads upon the table. He closes the picture by bowing himself from the stage.
