A Promise (2013)

Summer, 1948. 14-year-old Alan has just three wishes: that there will be lasting peace, that England will win the Ashes, and that he will finally kiss classmate Ann. So when he's cast opposite her in a play that requires a kiss and England seem to be doing well in cricket, life couldn't be better.

In the early 1970s, Otto Schily and Hans-Christian Ströbele were part of the group of attorneys of the left-wing extraparliamentary opposition in Germany. In this function, they, for instance, represented the militant Horst Mahler in court. One thing that united all three of them was their goal to create a new and different republic. They viewed Federal Germany as an oppressor of political freedom and as a vassal of the United States. Today, Schily is a former Federal Minister of the Interior with a firmly conservative stance and Ströbele is a well-respected member of the left wing of the Green Party in the German parliament while Mahler has again come into conflict with the law because of his extremist right-wing activities.

1940년, 지하운동에 가담해 나치 정권에 저항하던 독일인 쿠르트 뮬러는 아내 사라와 세 자녀를 데리고 사라의 어머니와 남동생이 사는 미국 워싱턴으로 온다. 지난 17년 동안 유럽에서 反 파시스트 활동에 참여하며 나치 정권에 맞서온 쿠르트는 온갖 수난의 상처로 여유로운 장모의 집에서 안정을 취하기로 하지만, 그는 가족들을 이곳에 맡겨둔 채 본격적인 지하운동을 준비한다. 한편, 이 저택에는 독일 대사관을 드나들며 나치당원들에게 비위를 맞춰온 루마니아인 텍 드 브랑코비스란 유숙객이 있었다. 첫눈에 쿠르트를 의심한 텍은 쿠르트의 가방에서 총과 돈을 발견하고 그가 지하 요원임을 알아챈다. 얼마 지나지 않아, 쿠르트의 저항군 동료인 막스 프라이당크가 체포되었다는 소식이 이곳에 전해진다. 과거 막스의 도움으로 게슈타포의 손아귀에서 벗어날 수 있었던 쿠르트는 막스와 함께 체포된 사람들을 돕기 위해 독일로 돌아갈 계획을 세운다. 유럽으로 돌아가 재기를 꿈꾸는 텍은 쿠르트에게 나치에게 함구하겠다는 조건으로 만 달러를 요구한다. 심사숙고 끝에, 텍을 믿을 수 없다고 결론을 내린 쿠르트는 그를 쏴 죽이고 나치의 심장부를 향해 길을 나선다.

Private Donald Duck is on a long, long training march, growing steadily more exhausted. Finally, they reach their camp location, and despite Donald's desire for dinner, he follows orders to pitch his tent first. He finally gives up on the tent as night falls. But as he tries to get to sleep, the loud shoring of the other soldiers forces him to bury his head. Finally, he gets to sleep, just as reveille sounds and the march continues.
