라스베가스 최고의 인기 가수가 된 들로리스에게 어느 날 수녀님들이 찾아와 도움을 청한다. 자신들이 선생으로 있는 학교의 아이들에게 음악을 가르쳐 달라는 것. 옛 정 때문에 할 수 없이 다시 수녀복을 입게 된 들로리스는 초반부터 못 말리는 문제아들에게 골탕을 먹고 두 손을 들고 만다. 그러나 우연히 학교의 이사가 학교를 폐쇄하려고 한다는 사실을 알게 된 들로리스는 다른 수녀님들과 힘을 합해 학교를 살리기로 마음먹고 특유의 끼를 발동한다. 아이들이 모두 음악에 소질이 있다는 걸 발견한 들로리스는 합창단을 만드는데, 처음에는 적대적이었던 학생들도 자신들의 숨은 재능을 발견해내고 희망을 갖게해 준 들로리스에게 마음을 열기 시작한다. 들로리스와 수녀님들은 합창대회에 참가해서 좋은 성적을 거두면 아이들에게도 자신감이 생기고 학교를 살리는데도 도움이 될 거라는 생각에 대회 참가를 추진하는데, 막상 대회가 열리는 날 들로리스가 클럽 가수라는 걸 알게 된 이사장과 교장은 합창단의 참가를 저지하러 출동한다. 한편 학생들은 다른 팀의 공연을 본 후 지레 겁을 먹고 포기하려하고, 들로리스는 아이들에게 용기를 불어넣어준다. 결국 아이들은 멋진 공연을 펼쳐 우승하고 학교의 폐교결정도 취소된다. 피날레를 장식하는 화려한 공연, "오 해피데이"와 찬송가 "기뻐하며 경배하세"를 비롯해 여러 귀에 익은 곡들이 어깨를 들썩이게 한다.

이야기는 주말, 일상적 섹스, 맥주, 마약 따위만 보고 살면서 누군가에게 화풀이를 하곤 하는, 지루함에 지친 20대 청년 토미 존슨을 중심으로 전개되고 있다. 느리게만 움직이던 토미의 인생은 라이벌 회사가 전쟁을 시작하고 일련의 악몽들이 그로 하여금 자신의 인생에 질문을 던지게 하면서 변화하기 시작한다. 영화는 토미의 눈을 통해 말해지고, 그가 관계 맺는 다른 세대의 세 남자와의 관계를 통해 우정, 복수, 그리고 폭력에 대한 자극적인 주제를 전달한다.

생일 파티에 고용된 광대가 짓궂은 아이들의 장난에 의해 죽게 된다. 몇 년 후 블랙매직의 힘을 빌어 되살아난 광대는 자신을 죽게 만든 아이들에 대한 복수를 시작한다. '킬러 광대'만큼 심야상영에 적합한 영화는 없는 것 같다. 코미디와 호러를 배합한 '킬러 광대'는 물론 예술성이 있는 작품이 아니다. 아니 오히려 철저하게 예술성을 배제한 영화라고 보면 된다. 단순히 관객들의 즐거움을 선사하기 위해 만든 이 작품은 어설프게 관객에게 의미심장한 메시지를 전달한다거나 감독의 연출력을 내보이고 싶어 하지 않는다. 처음부터 끝까지 별 생각 없이 즐기시면 되는 영화다. 그렇다고 해서 이 영화 자체가 어설프다는 이야기는 절대 아니다. 오히려 관객에게 즐거움을 선사하기 위해서 철저히 ‘배려’된 작품이다. 잔인함과 코믹함이 완벽하게 배합된 '킬러 광대'는 두 가지를 다 원하는 관객들에겐 더 없이 ‘훌륭한’ 호러 코미디다. 잔인한 장면도 많이 있으니 단순한 코미디라고 생각하시는 분들은 피해 주시길... Although he was once a colonel in Argentina, the principal character in this film is now a wealthy exile living in Paris with his beloved wife, who has been unable to bear children. To fill this void in their lives, he feeds and clothes abandoned children, raising them in his mansion as if they were his own. As would never be the case in real life today, in this fantasized story set in 1925, no one objects to this behavior, and they live pleasantly and enjoyably together. Things grow considerably more animated when a stage magician places his very attractive daughter in the colonel's household, which stirs a lively romantic interest from his boys and from the great man himself.
