After the Wall: A World United (2011)

마크는 전쟁 기간에 스파이 활동을 하다가 집으로 돌아오지만, 아내 안나는 뭔가에 정신이 팔린 듯 이상 행동을 보이며 가족을 떠나려고 한다. 마크는 아내와의 결혼생활을 잘해보려고 노력하지만 안나는 점점 광적인 행동을 하고, 더는 참을 수가 없어진 마크는 사립 탐정을 고용해 그녀를 미행하도록 한다. 마크는 안나의 빈자리를 느끼며 그녀와 닮은 선생 헬렌에게 묘한 감정을 느끼지만 안나에 대한 집착은 갈수록 심해진다. 결국, 마크는 안나의 애인이라는 정체를 알 수 없는 그 무엇과 만나게 되고 마는데... 영화 속에서 배우의 내면연기를 이끌어내는 탁월한 재능이 있다고 정평이 난 감독 안드레이 줄랍스키는 이자벨 아자니가 맡은 안나의 파괴적인 캐릭터에 생명력을 불어넣었다. 아자니는 영화에 출연하고 나서 정신적 질환에 시달렸고 자살기도까지 했다고 하지만, 그 해 칸 영화제 여우주연상을 거머쥐었다. 현대인의 불안한 심리를 이해되지 않는 난해함과 B급 영화적 분위기로 뒤섞은 대단히 컬트적인 영화.

전쟁으로 아버지를 잃은 핑크(Pink: 봅 제도프 분)는 엄마와 단둘이 외롭게 살아간다. 늘 혼자인 핑크는 전쟁 공포증과 더불어 자유로운 사고를 가로막는 교육 제도에 적응하지 못하고 방황한다. 이런 부적응이 세상이 다 자신을 향해 쌓은 벽이라 생각한 그는 틀에 박힌 관념과 행동양식에 파괴의식을 느낀다. 성장하여 록스타가 되었지만 사람들의 박수는 참을 수 없는 짐이 되고, 사랑에도 실패한 핑크는 세상과 벽을 쌓는 자학적인 행동을 하면서 소외도디고 불안정한 생활을 지속한다.

1980년대 중반 동독에서는 9만명이 넘는 비밀경찰(슈타지)과 약 17만명의 정보원이 활동했다. 만인에 대한 만인의 밀고로 유지되는 세계에서는 더 끈덕지게 의심하는 자가 유능한 멤버다. 주인공 게르트 비즐러(울리히 뮈헤)는 탁월한 감시 및 심문 실력과 정치적 신념으로 무장한 비밀경찰. 비즐러는 동독 최고의 극작가 드라이만과 그의 애인이자 인기 여배우 크리스타를 감시하는 중대 임무를 맡는다. 그러나 시간이 지날수록 드라이만을 체포할 만한 단서는 찾을 수 없다. 비즐러는 오히려 드라이만과 크리스타의 삶으로 인해 감동받고 사랑을 느끼며 이전의 삶과는 달리 인간적인 모습으로 변화하기 시작하는데...

동독의 열혈 공산당원이자 교사인 크리스티아네는 베를린 장벽 제거를 주장하는 시위대에서 아들이 끌려가는 모습을 보고 그 충격에 쓰러져 혼수 상태에 빠진다 . 그 후 8개월 후... 그녀는 사회주의 동독이 이미 사라진 통일 독일하에서 의식을 되찾게 된다.. 아들 알렉스는 기뻤지만 그 기쁨도 잠시, 엄마는 심장이 약해져 조금의 충격이라도 받으면 목숨이 위험하다는 의사의 경고를 받게 된다. 이때부터 엄마를 위한 아들의 지상최대 거짓말 프로젝트가 시작된다. 우선 엄마가 사는 아파트를 과거 동독 시절의 모습으로 되돌려 놓는 것은 물론, 쓰레기통을 뒤져가며 엄마가 찾는 구 동독 시절 오이피클 병을 구하고, 급기야는 엄마를 위해 동독의 발전과 서방의 붕괴를 담은 TV 뉴스까지 친구와 함께 제작하기에 이른다. 알렉스의 거짓말 시리즈가 매일 부풀어가는 무렵 엄마는 심장마비에 걸리게 되고 알렉스에게 소원을 부탁 하는데...

서베를린 미 관할 지역, 동베를린에서 피아니스트 빅터 바제브스키가 극적으로 탈출한다. 첩보원 해리 파머는 베를린 지역으로 파견 나온 KGB의 스탁 대령의 망명 책임을 맡게 된다. 위조여권을 지니고 베를린으로 향한 파머는 영문도 모른 채 체포된다. 그를 기다라는 것은 스탁 대령. 의심을 피하기 위해 파머를 체포한 후 접선을 한 스탁 대령은 망명하고 싶다는 의사를 전달하고 조건을 내세운다. 완벽한 탈출계획을 위해 오트 크루츠만과 작업하기를 원한다. 파머는 크루츠만과 접선하기 위해 친구에게 부탁을 하지만, 일이 꼬이면 변사체로 발견될 것이라는 경고를 듣게 된다. 그때 우연을 가장해 파머에게 접근하는 사만다 스틸. 파머는 그녀의 유혹에 빠져들지만, 동시에 그녀의 정체를 알기 위한 계획에 착수한다.

베를린 하늘의 천사, 다니엘은 어느 날 공중 곡예를 하는 마리온을 보고 반한다. 그저 바라보기만 할 수 있는 천사로서는 사랑에 빠진 여자를 만질 수 없음이 그저 고통스럽기만 하다. 그러던 어느날, 천사였다가 인간이 된 콜롬보를 만난다. 그 후, 다니엘은 천사직을 포기하고 인간이 되어 마리온과 만질 수 있는 사랑에 빠진다. 인간이 되어 마리온과 접촉할 수 있는 사랑을 하게 되나, 인간으로서 살아가는 문제와도 봉착하게 된다.
