Good Night, Little Friend (1962)

중년의 주부 로살바(리치아 마글리에타 분)는 가족 여행 도중 고속도로 휴게실에서 일행을 잃고 홀로 남겨진다. 집으로 돌아가기 위해 히치하이킹을 했다가 충동적으로 베니스로 목적지를 수정하고, 그곳에서 밤마다 자살 기도를 하는 냉소적인 아일랜드인 웨이터 페르난도(부르노 간쯔 분)를 만난다.

아버지인 로이의 실직으로 가세가 기울자 제스는 부모님과 2살짜리 남동생 벤과 함께 노스 다코타의 시골 마을로 이사 온다. 거기서 수년간 거래가 되지 않고 있던 해리슨 농장 집을 헐값에 사서 해바라기 농사를 지어 제2의 삶을 시작하려고 한 것. 도시 생활에 익숙해있던 제스는 부모님과 갈등을 빚지만 하는 수 없이 따라 내려오고 이 음침한 농장 집에서 전혀 다른 생활을 시작한다. 하지만 새로 이사 온 집에서 이상한 일들이 벌어지기 시작한다. 벽에서 유령이 나오고 2살짜리 남동생은 유령들을 보며 손 가락질 한다. 제스는 집을 청소하던 중 침대에서 귀신의 발을 보게 되며 드디어 집안 사람들은 하나 둘 미쳐가기 시작한다.

노래로 구애하는 펭귄 왕국, 춤에는 특별한 재능을 가졌지만 노래만은 세계 최악인 멈블(엘리야 우드)이 있다. 멈블의 엄마 노마 진(니콜 키드먼)은 아들의 탭 댄스가 귀엽다고 생각하지만 아빠 멤피스(휴 잭맨)는 멈블이 펭귄답지 못하다고 여긴다. 멈블 역시 짝사랑하는 소꿉친구 글로리아(브리트니 머피)에게 구애할 수 없는 자신이 서글프다. 멈블은 펭귄왕국의 질서를 어지럽힌다는 이유로 추방당하고, 우연히 또 다른 펭귄 종족인 라몬(로빈 윌리암스)과 그의 일당을 만난다. 멈블은 자신의 현란한 발 동작에 매료된 라몬 일당과 함께 광활한 얼음대륙을 넘어 특별한 여행을 시작한다.

영화의 시대적 배경은 비엔나의 가난한 서민들의 삶에서 시작됩니다. 당시 비엔나 아이들의 로망은 오직 소년합창단에 들어가는 것이었습니다. 그곳에 들어가기만 하면 매년 공짜로 전 세계 순회공연을 다니면서 세계각국의 맛있는 음식을 먹을 수 있다는 소문이 돌면서 비엔나에서 노래를 좀 한다는 소년들은 합창단의 오디션에 참석합니다. 기관사인 아버지를 따라 역에 놀러 왔던 주인공인 토니는 마침 순회공연을 마치고 돌아오는 빈 소년합창단의 우아한 모습에 단박에 매료되고 맙니다. 그리고 무작정 엄마를 졸라서 오디션을 보게 되고 자신도 몰랐던 재능에 토니는 감격해합니다 하지만 합창단 안에는 또 하나의 작은 생존의 세상… 그곳에서 소년들은 변성기가 찾아오면 무조건 합창단에서 쫓겨나야 하는 한시적인 운명임을 깨닫고는 토니는 두려워하게 됩니다. 더구나 토니의 재능을 질투하는 변성기의 귀로에 선 상급자 친구들은 수시로 토니를 괴롭힙니다. 그중 에서도 토니를 가장 괴롭히던 페터에게도 변성기가 찾아오게 됩니다.

This somber story of love lost forever is set against the backdrop of the changes that Communism brought to the state of Georgia in the former USSR after the 1917 Revolution. Eva and Archil are deeply in love and they pledge to be with each other always. After they marry, Archil dies suddenly and Eva is left alone and childless.
