교수형을 선고 받은 멕시코의 범죄자 조니(마르코 레오나르디)는 리즈의 도움으로 형 집행자의 딸 에스메랄다(아라 셀리)를 데리고 탈출한다. 이들의 거취를 추적하던 남북전쟁 영웅 비어스(마이클 팍스)는 선교사 부부와 함께 조니 일행이 머물고 있는 술집 '황혼에서 새벽까지'로 찾아든다. 흡혈귀들의 소굴인 이곳에서는 에스메랄다를 뱀파이어의 여왕으로 등극시키기 위한 피의 향연이 벌어지고 있었는데...

양로원에서 무료한 삶을 살아가던 노인들이 이상하게 생긴 커다란 돌이 들어 있는 이웃집 풀장에서 수영을 하고 난 뒤로는 이상하게 젊어지기 시작한다. 사실 그 돌은 외계인들이 멕시코만의 해저에서 자신의 동족이 잠자고 있는 생명의 돌, 즉 코쿤이었다. 그 사실을 모르는 노인들은 이 풀장에서 수영을 하면서 우연한 기회에 외계인들과 마주치게 된다. 하지만 두려움은 잠시였고 외계인들과 노인들은 마음 속 깊이 따뜻한 사랑의 감정을 나눈다.
