Murderer! (1976)

일본의 전국시대. 주민들은 황폐한 땅에서 어렵게 수확한 식량으로 한해 한해를 넘기는 빈촌에 살고 있다. 이 빈촌엔 보리 수확이 끝날 무렵이면 어김없이 산적들이 찾아와 모든 식량을 모조리 약탈해 간다. 싸워도 애원해도 소용이 없었다. 가만히 있을 수만은 없던 촌장의 결단으로 사무라이들을 모집하는데, 이들은 풍부한 전쟁 경험을 가진 시마다 칸베에를 포함한 7명이었다. 시마다의 지휘하에 마을은 방위태세를 갖추고 전투훈련도 시작한다. 이윽고 산적들의 공격이 시작되어 치열한 사투가 벌어진다.

전란이 난무하는 헤이안 시대, 폭우가 쏟아지는 라생문의 처마 밑에서 나뭇꾼과 스님이 심각한 표정으로 생각에 잠겨 있다. 잠시 비를 피하러 그곳에 들른 한 남자. 이들은 이 남자를 상대로 최근에 그 마을에 있었던 기묘한 사건을 들려준다. 사건의 배경은 녹음이 우거진 숲 속. 사무라이 타케히로가 자신의 아내 마사코와 함께 숲 속을 지나고 있었다. 산적 타조마루는 그들 앞에 나타나 속임수로 타케히로를 포박하고 마사코를 겁탈한다. 오후에 그 숲에 들어선 나뭇꾼은 타케히로의 가슴에 칼이 꽂혀있는 것을 발견하고 관청에 신고한다. 타조마루는 체포되고, 행방이 묘연했던 마사코도 불려와 관청에서 심문이 벌어지는데...

조국과 명예를 위해 목숨을 걸고 전장터를 누볐던 네이든 알그렌 대위. 그러나 남북전쟁이 끝난 후, 세상은 변했다. 용기와 희생, 명예와 같은 군인의 덕목은 실용주의와 개인의 이익을 추구하는 시대 흐름에 밀려 설 자리를 잃게 되고, 그가 참여했던 전쟁의 명분조차 퇴색해버리자 알그렌은 허탈감에 빠진다. 그리고 지구 반대편에선 또 한명의 무사가 가치관의 혼란 속에 갈등을 겪고 있었다. 황제와 국가에 목숨 바쳐 충성해온 사무라이의 마지막 지도자 카츠모토가 바로 그. 미국이 신문명의 조류 속에서 변혁의 소용돌이에 휘말려있던 그 시기에, 일본의 전통 문화 역시 서양 문물의 도입으로 개혁의 홍역을 앓고 있었다. 새롭게 도입된 철도와 우편제도는 사무라이가 수세기 동안 목숨 걸고 지켜온 가치관을 뒤흔들어 놓고 있었던 것이다. 그러나, 카츠모토에게 전쟁 없는 삶은 곧 죽음이었다.

In ancient Japan, a good lord is killed and his throne is taken by the trecherous Yuki Daijo and his wizard friend Oroki-maru. The young prince Ikazuki-maru is rescued from the jaws of death by a magic bird sent by a wizard. Ten years later, Ikazuki-maru embarks on an adventure to avenge his parents and the wizard's death with his magic powers he learned from the wizard. He kills Yuki Daijo but then must battle Oroki-maru in a battle to the death.

"Executions" is a documentary showing real footage of the many different methods humanity has used through-out history for capital punishment. During the film, the makers point out how unjustifiable the death penalty is in every situation, so they do take a staunch stance against what they're presenting. Footage from live executions are shown in detail.

Thirsting for revenge, Jokichi rashly attempts to assassinate the evil Chogoro but ends up being captured by Yakuza. His life is spared by Boss Juzaburo, in order that the harmony of an important commemoration not be further disturbed. Though now even more of an outcast, Jokichi is asked by another Yakuza boss, Umezo, to guard Oyuki, the wayward daughter of Juzaburo. The tragic consequences of this assignment will lead him into a deadly trap and a final confrontation with Chogoro.

A young girl named Oichi is abandoned by her mother and blinded by a lightning strike. When her guardian is killed, she learns to wield a sword from a traveling ronin. As she develops into a master swordsman, her profession becomes that of a bounty hunter. Many test her sword and many die by her skills. She travels throughout the countryside to seek her mother and her revenge.

After a salary-man's fiancée attempts suicide, he recounts his gruesome family history which saw generations of his ancestors suffer and sacrifice themselves for the sake of their cruel lords.

At the prompting of his diplomat friend, Alex, writer Ted Fletcher takes his wife, Laura, and daughter, Amy, on an extended working holiday. Alex finds a house for them in Kyoto, Japan, and the Fletchers move in, laughing off rumors that the place is haunted. But the ghost of 19th-century samurai Shigero turns out to be very real, and is intent on making the family re-enact an ancient murder-suicide.

The film follows the story of Sugi Toranosuke, a ronin, who returns to his home town of Edo many years after his attempted suicide as a sickly child. Rescued and adopted by a master swordsman, he has grown into a master swordsman and a very kind gentleman. The time is around 1868 the year that the nails were finally put into the coffin containing the feudal system that nurtured and sustained the samurai. Sugi is confused and unsure about what is happening but his teacher wants him out of the chaos of the multiple power struggles between the various clans.

The Stranger comes across some bad guys trying to kill a Japanese emissary for a very important scroll. Before the emissary dies, he asks The Stranger to return the scroll to Japan. Once there he finds himself stuck in the middle of two rival clans and decides to play them off one against each other to free the town.

A squadron of Japanese Self-Defense Force soldiers find themselves transported through time to their country's warring states era, when rival samurai clans were battling to become the supreme Shogun.

The workaholic head of the compliance section of a New York bank flies to Monaco to investigate unusual deposits from an offshore bank and meets a down-on-his-luck international film star who has become embroiled in criminal activities.

During the raging war between the Toyotomi and Tokugawa clans, the swordsman Mohei (whose family has been completely decimated) is recruited by Toyotomi to overcome the seat of power, Osaka Castle. Mohei's daredevil skills will be put to severe tests.
