A record in moving images of a timeless dimension, the tragedy takes place in a dark void where the voiceless ones enact their drama in a theatre of infatuation, power and vengeance. The force of the roar reverberates as insanity erupts from total stillness, free of dialogue. An atmosphere of total darkness envelops every single particle and atom, external and internal, in dreams and in the heart. This film is adapted from the Thai folk tale of Gagee, a maiden so enchanting and fragrant as a flower, so irresistible that all who gaze upon her fall under her spell. They vie with each other to possess her, leading to war. This ancient legend has been reimagined and retold by new characters as a silent, surreal movie.

아마도 유전적인 영향을 받아 퇴행성 뇌질환을 갖게 된 주인공의 이야기를 3인칭 시점의 나레이터가 오디오북 읽듯이 풀어나간다. 초중반 갑자기 휘몰아치는 기괴한 사운드와 왜곡되는 이미지들로 인해 주인공의 절망과 정신착란을 직접 체험하는 느낌이 들기도 하고, 혹은 누군가의 악몽 안에 들어가는 것 같기도 한다. 그러다 가 뒤로 갈수록 점점 슬퍼지며 주인공에게 연민을 느끼 게 되는데, 마지막에 나레이터가 비극을 부정하는 방식 으로 나름의 이야기를 만들어내며 영화가 마무리된다.
카시 삼부작의 첫 작품. ‘코야니스카시’란 호피 족 인디언 말로 ‘균형 깨진 삶'라는 뜻이다. 뚜렷한 내러티브도 대사도 없이 그저 음악과 영상으로만 되어 있는 이 영화는, 고대 인디언들이 그린 벽화에서 시작한다. 이후 광활하고 경외로운 대자연, 그리고 인간이 약간의 가공을 가한, 노동하는 인간과 함께 하는 자연을 그린다. 이후 정신없이 빠른 속도로 굴러가는 도시를 묘사하는 씬으로 오면, 자연과 완전히 등을 진 채 오롯이 인간이 만든 인공적인 환경 속에서 속도와 파괴에 지배당하는 인간의 도시문명이 대비된다. 도시 문명의 속도는 점점 심해져 클라이막스에서는 거의 기하학적 무늬로 표현되며 현기증을 준다.

Not to be confused with any of the sequels to Sylvester Stallone's classic Oscar-winning Rocky, this short film from Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismäki is actually meant as a parody of the late Cold War-era Rocky IV, which saw Stallone's character taking on a juiced-up Russian fighter played by Dolph Lundgren. In this 1986 send-up, Rock'y, played by Silu Seppala, goes head to head with Soviet Igor (Sakari Kuosmanen) and loses.
