일본 제일의 인기 연예인이자 코미디계의 카리스마로 불리는 마츠모토 히토시의 두 번째 작품인 은, 제12회 부산국제영화제에 초대되었던 처럼 그만이 갖는 황당하면서도 기발한 수준 높은 상상력을 보여 주는 작품이다. 사방이 하얀 방에 갇히게 된 한 남자는 어떻게 해서든지 방에서 나가보려고 별의별 시도를 다하는데, 남성기를 닮은 돌기(말 그대로 심볼)를 발견을 하게 되면서 이걸 이용해 탈출하려 하나, 그가 직면해야만 하는 가지각색의 고난은 웃음을 연발케 만든다. 이전 때도 그러했지만, 보는 이로 하여금 이 이상의 세부내용을 거론치 못하게끔 장치한 스토리의 흐름과 있을 수 없는 폭소의 종결은 코미디언으로서 마츠모토가 가진 장인정신이라 할 것이지만, 그가 에서 보여주는 감독으로서의 재능은 ‘영화란 영상으로 전하는 언어’라는 너무나도 평범해서 잊어버리기 쉬운 기본 중의 기본 전제를 재인식시켜줌에 있다고 할 것이다. 절제된 대사와 절제된 화면으로 표현된 영상이 아주 인상 깊이 남는 작품이다.

Having fled across his country, he succeeded, by chance, in leaving Nigeria and going into exile in France.

As the shooting authorizations where cancelled following the 2013 North-Korean crisis, the video simulates the filming with a thermal imaging camera reproducing images at 37°C (98.6°F) – in other words, our body temperature. Hence, the abstraction achieved through scientific imaging (re)places on an equal stage the soldiers no matter what side they are on, and thus cancels the very notion of border.
