시놉시스
When a crafty reporter uses false pretenses to get a story out of heiress Tony Gateson, she turns the tables on him, telling the press that they are engaged. Suddenly he's front page news, every salesman is at his doorstep, and he loses his job. A series of misadventures ensues with him alternately back on his job and fired and her ex-fiancé showing up.

는 결혼식 때마다 도망가 버리는 신부 메기 카펜터(줄리아 로버츠)를 취재하러 온 이크 그래엄(리처드 기어)이 서로에게 가슴 뛰는 사랑을 느끼게 되어 드디어 결혼식을 하는 날, 다시 한 번 도망가 버리는 메기. 그리하여 메기의 신화는 지속되는가 싶었는데, 뉴욕으로 돌아간 이크를 메기가 찾아옴으로써 메기는 드디어 런어웨이 브라이드라는 오명을 벗게 되었다는 이야기.
레지나의 남편이 어느 날 살해된다. 장례식이 있던 날 그녀는 경찰로부터 남편이 현금 도난 사건에 연루되었으며 함께 범죄에 참가했던 사람들이 그 돈을 찾고 있다는 말을 듣는다. 그녀는 곧 세 명의 남자들로부터 계속 추적을 받는다. 그리고 조슈아라는 남자가 그녀를 도와주겠다고 한다. 돈의 행방은 묘연하고, 조슈아는 자신의 신분과 이름을 계속 바꾸는데, 그 와중에서 추적자들은 하나씩 살해된다.

시드니(니브 캠벨)는 아직도 과거 죽은 어머니의 환영 때문에 놀라곤 한다. 안전을 위해 가명을 사용하고 있는 그녀는 전화 공포에 시달리는 여성들에게 상담을 해주며 살아간다. 어느 날 익명의 전화 한 통이 걸려오고 그녀는 최근 헐리우드의 촬영 현장에서 살인 사건이 발생했다는 소식을 듣는다. 시드니는 살인자가 그녀의 죽은 엄마 모린의 사진을 남기고 사라졌다는 소식을 듣고 현장으로 달려간다. 계속해서 모린의 사진이 발견되면서 에 출연 중인 배우들이 차례로 죽어간다. 이 살인 사건을 조사하려는 수사관과 기자들이 몰려오고, 시드니는 기자가 된 게일과 다시 한 번 만난다. 사건의 전모가 밝혀지면서 숨겨졌던 시드니의 과거 비밀이 드러나는데...
