시놉시스
Paula, a chorus girl, marries into an aristocratic family. Unfortunately, her husband is a drunk. When he tries to give some liquor to their infant son, she brandishes a pair of scissors at him. He wrestles them away from her, then falls down the stairs and stabs himself. Due to the perjured testimony of the maid and butler, Paula is convicted of murder and sent to jail. Her son, Danny, grows up to be a movie star. There is a controversy surrounding him because he refuses to do his own stunts. The reason he won't take any chances is that he is using all his money to get his mother out of jail. Finally, to redeem himself, he agrees to participate in a charity auto race, but his mother's hearing is scheduled for the race day.

An American woman tries to break off her relationship with her Italian lover at Rome's Stazione Termini train station. This is Vittorio De Sica's original 89-minute "Terminal Station" which was released first in April 1953 as "Stazione Termini," the Italian title of Cesare Zavattini's story. A year later in May 1954, Columbia Pictures released a different version with the alternative title "Indiscretion of an American Wife" which producer David O. Selznick had re-edited and cut to a shortened 64 minutes, dramatically altering characterization by removing its establishing shots and neorealist touches.
짐수레를 끄는 홀아비 마부인 춘삼은 고등고시를 공부하는 장남 수업과, 언어 장애 탓에 못된 남편에게 맞고 쫓겨 오기 일쑤인 맏딸 옥례, 가난한 집안 형편에 불만을 품고 신분 상승을 꿈꾸는 작은딸 옥희, 도둑질을 일삼는 막내 대업 등 네 자녀와 함께 살고 있다. 마주 집의 식모살이를 하고 있는 수원댁은 가난한 마부인 춘삼을 물심양면으로 도와주고 둘 사이에는 애틋한 감정이 오간다. 장남은 세 번이나 고등고시에 떨어지고, 큰딸은 남편의 학대에 못 이겨 한강에 투신해 자살하며, 작은딸도 부잣집 아들에게 농락당하는 등 온 가족이 시련을 겪는 가운데, 설상가상으로 춘삼은 사장의 자동차에 말이 놀라 다리까지 다친다. 게다가 마주는 말을 팔겠다며 마부 일을 그만두게 한다. 수원댁은 식모 일을 하며 모아둔 돈으로 그 말을 몰래 사서 춘삼에게 돌려준다. 마침내 장남 수업이 고시에 합격하던 날, 모두 모인 가족들은 수원댁을 어머니로 모신다. 새로운 희망에 부푼 춘삼의 가족들은 눈이 내리는 중앙청 거리를 함께 걷는다.
Carrie Snyder is a prostitute, who is forced out of the fictional southern town of Crebillon, after forming a friendship with a young boy named Paul, whose dying mother is unable to protest against her son visiting such a woman. After Carrie has left town Paul runs away from his abusive father, and meets a girl named Lady who has run away from a burning trainwreck, not wanting to go back to the people she was with. Carrie comes back for Paul and ends up taking Paul and Lady to New York with her.
This historical piece, set in the Huguenot days of France, is Norma Talmadge's 37th feature film and the longest to date at two hours. The plot involves a man forced into servitude who falls in love with the sister of his persecutor. It was Ms. Talmadge's fourth involvement with director, Frank Lloyd and the cast included future star, Wallace Beery.

여대생 미원은 정진구의 집 가정교사로 들어온다. 겉으로 보기엔 부유하고 좋은 그 집에서 미원은 뭔가 어두운 그림자를 느낀다. 고등학생인 셋째 아들 인식은 미원과 친하게 지내며 식구들에 대한 얘기를 해주고, 미원도 그들과 지내면서 이 가족에 대해 조금씩 알게 된다. 장성한 자식들의 어머니라기엔 너무 젊은 어머니는 국민학생인 막내 윤애의 친모일 뿐, 나머지 자식들은 모두 어머니가 다르고, 아버지는 가정을 돌보지 않는다. `아프레 걸'이랄 수 있는 영애는 예술대 음악과 졸업반으로, 프랑스 실존철학을 읊으며 승마와 드라이브, 연애로 시간을 보내고, 가족에 대해 빈정거리고 냉소한다. 차남 정식은 권투선수로, 작년 대회에서 패배했다가 올해는 필승을 다짐하지만 또 패배하고 만다. 장남 창식은 술로 세월을 보내는데, 6·25에 참전했다 평양에 가던 날 엄마를 찾으러 갔다가 다리를 다쳤고, 조강지처를 버린 아버지에 대한 분노를 안고 살아간다. 미원 또한 실연의 아픈 상처를 갖고 있지만, 이들 가족들을 이어주는 끈이 된다. 미원과 창식은 서로의 과거를 얘기하면서 사랑을 확인하고, 창식은 아버지와 화해하고 아버지의 회사일을 돕겠다고 마음먹는다. 영애도 무슈 최와의 결혼을 발표하면서 가정의 모든 갈등이 해결되는 듯하다. 그러나 경기에서 진 정식이 술에 취한 상태에서 최를 죽이자 영애는 집을 나가고 이 충격으로 아버지는 숨을 거둔다. 장례식이 끝난 지 두달 후 미원과 창식은 영애를 만나고, 이들 가족은 희망찬 미래를 약속한다.
