In 1959, a body of a flight attendant of an international airline is found, strangled. Detective Rokuro Fujisawa takes charge of the investigation with a young detective Ichimura and his investigations lead him to Father Tolbeck as a suspect. But the police are forced to move very discreetly as the time was right after the Second World War, when a sensitive situation that involves Western people and religion is likely to become an international issue. The investigation leads to an unexpected discloser of a shadowy business behind the church that reflects the uncertainty of the time.

소설가 아즈마 나오미의 '스스키노 탐정 시리즈'를 오오이즈미 요, 마츠다 류헤이 주연으로 영화화한 하드보일드 엔터테인먼트 미스터리작. 원작 시리즈 중 두 번째 작품인『바에 걸려 온 전화(バーにかかってきた電話)』를 바탕으로 했다. 그외 코유키, 니시다 토시유키가 출연하고, 하시모토 하지메 감독이 연출하였다.

Tatsumura Yusuke, Toho Advertising's deputy sales manager was a childhood friend of Akiko and Katsuya. In fact, there is a secret that cannot be divulged about the relationship between Akiko and her father and the truth behind his death between these three people. They don't contact each other after they grow up but 25 years later, that secret comes back to Akiko in an extortion letter. Meanwhile, Tatsumura's division suddenly competes in a big project with a budget of 1.8 billion yen. Tatsumura works towards a successful pitch with Tachibana, Hirano, and Totsuka but interference within the company from envious parties and a heated contest with a rival firm remains. Then Tatsumura learns that there is a link between this project and that secret from his past...

Stranded in Manila with no money, Masao ends up staying to work. One day he meets a beautiful farmer's daughter, Christina (Alice Dixson), reawakening not only his chances for love, but also his love for farming.

작가이면서 교수인 아버지 K, 자상하고 지혜로운 어머니, 선천적 뇌 장애자인 장남 이이요, 그림동화작가를 꿈꾸는 딸 마아짱, 재수생인 막내 호기, 이렇게 다섯 가족은 조용하고 평화로운 생활을 영위해 나가고 있다. 하지만 장애자인 이이요의 존재는 묵시적이고 잠재적으로 가정에 어두운 그림자를 드리운다. 그러나 가족들은 슬기로운 인내와 지혜로 그러한 것들을 극복해 나아간다. 만약 이이요가 정상이었다면 이라는 부질없는 생각은 절대 하지 않기로 서로 약속하고 지켜 나간다. 가족들 중에 특히 딸인 마짱이 이이요에게 각별한 애정과 관심으로 돌보아 준다. 가족들의 이러한 사랑으로 장애를 많이 극복한 이이요는 소리와 음악에 관해서 만은 천재적인 재능을 보인다. The Rinkaiji family, by all appearances, is a well-to-do Japanese family. The father, Nariyuki, works in an elite corporation, which gives his wife Yoshiko status in their suburban neighborhood. But the daughter Sugina, who herself has secretly stopped going to school because she is being bullied. One day, they discover that Nariyuki has quit his job. As Nariyuki decides to find a new job along with Sugina, Yoshiko, a firm believer in a life based on the company, soon finds her world falling apart.
