베트남 전쟁이 종결되고 난후, 3년이 지나 일본인 사진작가 개천은배트남을 취재하러간다. 정부 문화국의 안내로 견학한 도시의 신 경제지구는 밝은 표정이었다. 이러한 모습들을보고 개천은 베트남을 좋게생각한다. 그러나 그것은 정부가 꾸민 것에 불과하다. 후에 개천은 남주임을 만나서 이상한 것을 알고 혼자 거기로 나온다. 그곳에서 신양가족을 만나게 되고 비참한 베트남의 실상을 알게된다. 그러다가 주명을 만나고 그가 탈출하려할때 목숨을 걸고 도와주지만 죽고 만다. 어느날 매춘을 하는 신냥의 어머니가 자살하고 개천은 잇따른 불행으로 남동생과 둘만이 되어버린 14세의 소년 신냥을 그대로 내버려 둘 수가없었다. 그래서 그는 사진작가라는 타이틀을 버리고 신냥과 그의 동생을 국외로 탈출시키기 위해 자신의 카메라를 팔아서 여비를 만든다. 끝내 개천은 신냥을 탈출시키지만 자신은 총에 맞아 죽는데...

Hsiao-Peng, an unmarried mother is sent to a maternity home for young single mothers. During her time in the maternity home, she slowly overcomes the depressive thoughts and builds strong bonds with Wen-Yueh, Ko-Hsin, and Madam Pai. After moving out the maternity home, Hsiao-Peng lives with Wen-Yueh and Ko-Hsin in an apartment where they continue to be each other’s support. The two main settings of the film, the maternity home and the apartment, build an atypical family model. It is a tender coming-of-age tale where women are empowered with the right to think for themselves.

Legendary Chinese rebel Fong Sai Yuk (Fei Meng) takes on the Manchu dynasty in this high-octane martial arts actioner. Yao Hao (Chen Sing), is a young man whose father was assassinated and whose mother was killed in an attack on the funeral procession. He survives the attack and winds up at a Shaolin temple where he insists he wants to stay and become a monk. His beautiful fiancée (Lu Shu Chin) pleads with him to come back with her, but he refuses. Brother Fa's weakening resolve soon finds him leaving the monastery and falling into the clutches of Lord Eagle (Kam Kong), the Manchu ruler in the area who's trying to wipe out all resistance to Manchu/Ching rule.
