He has contacted Faby, an undocumented Peruvian waitress who works in the slum where Enrique has felt ill. Fascinated by the girl, Ramón decides to solve her problems, marrying her to Enrique.

촉망받는 투우사 후안(Juan: Angel Alcazar 분)과 결혼한 젊고 아름다운 글로리아(Gloria Duque: 빅토리아 아브릴 분)는 행복의 모든 걸 소유한 걸로 보였지만, 후안이 투우에서 큰 부상을 입고 혼수상태에 빠지면서 불행해지기 시작한다. 알콜에 손을 대고 마침내 가난과 비참함만이 남아있는 집을 버리고 멕시코로 떠난다. 살기위해 거리의 여자가 된 글로리아. 우연히 마약거래하는 현장에 있다가 경찰관 2명과 마약거래업자 1명이 살해당하는 것을 그대로 목격하게 된다. 그중 죽어가던 경찰관 1명이 글로리아에게 멕시코 갱들이 마약밀매로 번 돈을 세탁하는 세탁업자들의 명단과 주소들이 적혀있는 노트를 준다. 멕시코에서 추방당한 글로리아는 다시 무일푼으로 시어머니와 남편 후안이 살고 있는 자신의 고향, 스페인 마드리드로 돌아온다. 글로리아는 지긋지긋한 가난에서 벗어나고자, 멕시코에서 가지온 노트에 적힌 돈세탁업자 중 한 곳을 털 결심을 하고 치밀한 계획을 세운다. 글로리아의 대담한 강도 행각은 일단 성공한 듯이 보였지만 행운의 여신은 온전히 그녀 편이 아니다. 그녀를 죽이기위해 마드리드에 온 킬러 에두아르도와 마주치게 되는데.

The story unfolds in Bilbao. Rocío (Emma Suárez), is in love with Mario (Antonio Banderas), a free rider with a lot of face that, to top it all, is partner of the business of her father, Domingo (Francisco Rabal) with whom she maintains incestuous relations. When Domingo passes away, both Mario and Rocío's mother have to put to the front of the business, finishing with the inheritance that could receive Rocío. In the midst of her frustration, a young business worker, secretly in love with Rocío, will try to have the legacy of her father end up in the hands of his rightful heiress.
