After the death of his estranged father, professional rainbow-watcher Stefano finds out he has a 13-year-old half-brother, and that he must become his legal guardian to receive the inheritance.

니콜라를 비롯한 열 명의 10대 소년들은 어른들의 마약 밀매 사업을 도우며 세력을 늘려나간다. 새로운 스쿠터를 구매하여 나폴리의 골목을 질주하고, 총을 사들여 어른들의 조직을 잠식해가기 시작한다. 새로운 실세가 된 니콜라는 시장에서 일하는 어머니를 위해 가구를 사들이고, 다른 구역에 있는 소녀와도 사랑에 빠지게 된다. 이들은 관행처럼 행해지던 세금을 거둬들이는 일을 멈추고 존경까지 받으며 구역을 확보해 나간다. 그것은 다른 구역과의 갈등으로 이어지고, 소년들 사이에서도 다툼이 일어나기 시작한다. 심지어 니콜라의 동생과 또래 아이들이 형들의 행동을 흠모한 나머지 총을 들고 남몰래 거리로 나서는 사태로 이어진다.

Vanni and Linda live in a penthouse apartment for rent in the center of Rome. Vanni writes novels, Linda 'cooperates' to his novels. Between a vernissage and an exhibition of Basquiat, thay hang out Alfredo and Constanza, a couple on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Alfredo is a surgeon with the habit of waking up early and has a lover, Constanza is a dermatologist with the same habits. With the intent to vent their frustrations in their friends' living room, Alfredo and Constanza take hostage the couple and recriminate loudly about the past and the present. In an impossible attempt to contain them, Vanni and Linda eventually take the field and also thrash each other. Someone will end up getting hurt by the end of the night.

서정적인 선율 속에서 뛰어다니는 세 남매를 보여주며 시작되는 이 영화는 19세기 이탈리아의 대표적인 낭만주의 시인 자코모 레오파르디의 삶을 소재로 한다. 엄격한 아버지의 교육 현장을 반영하는 초반부는 시대상을그대로 재현한 그림 같은 샷들로 구성되며, 전체적으로 19세기의 텍스처를 그대로 살린 실내 조명과 색감은 숭고미를 자아낼 정도로 감동적이다. 구속된 삶을 살았던 고향 레카나티에서부터 실연을 겪는 피렌체, 마지막 거처였던 나폴리에 이르기까지 실제 시인의 여정을 따라가다 보면 신체적 결함으로 인해 사랑과 동시에 죽음을 떠올려야만 했던 그의 시 세계에 한 발짝 더 가까이 다가갈 수 있다. 레오파르디 역의 엘리오 제르마노의 연기는 그야말로 타의 추종을 불허하며, 시를 읊으며 대단원을 장식하는 마지막 샷은 형언하기 힘든 감동을 준다. 모든 도서관 장면들은 실제 레오파르디가 작업했던 곳에서 촬영되었다고 한다. Gina and Marco are living in the suburbs of Rome. The two meet on a very special day: their first day at work. They have a future that awaits them and really seems at hand. Gina is about to realize her dream of becoming an actress, while Marco for the first time has found an opportunity that allows him to start dreaming: a job in a car rental company as a driver. They are enabled to know each other since his first duty is to drive Gina to an appointment, and given a delay, they have to share the whole day. This journey will take them from the periphery to the center of the city, will serve both to compare their experiences and think about a future that has already begun...
