니혼TV의 명물 엔터테인먼트 방송 “사랑은 지구를 구한다”에 삽입되기 위해서 만들어진 TV용 장편 애니메이션으로, 전체적으로 보면 초기의 손오공 작품과 선을 달리하는 멋을 보여주는데 이것은 역시 시대와 금전의 차이다. 전통성과 가벼운 재미를 보여주는 작품으로 영상부터 사운드까지 상당히 공을 들여 만든 작품이다.
