방랑기가 있는 건달이자 엉뚱한 작가인 남편 닉(Nick: 체비 체이스 분)과 이혼하고 현재 주법무장관으로까지 승진하여 승승장구하고 있는 지방 검사 아이라(Ira: 찰스 그로딘 분)와 결혼한 글렌다(Glenda: 골디 혼 분)는 문제 청소년을 변호하고 도와주는 인간미 넘치는 자유분방한 여변호사다. 그런데 어느날 2인조 은행강도에게 협박을 받아 은행을 턴 닉이 은행강도범으로 몰려 쫓기다가 부상을 당하고 나타나는데, 글렌다는 아이라의 눈을 피해 가며 닉을 숨겨주느라 애쓴다. 웃지 않고는 못배길 갖가지 상황이 일어나는 가운데 드디어 아이라가 눈치를 채고, 주지사를 초대한 석상에서 체스터가 술에 취해 곯아 떨어지자, 부억에 숨어 있던 닉은 자기가 대신 식사 서브를 하다가 아이라와 격투까지 벌어진다. 아이라는 은행 강도죄, 불법 가택 침입죄, 폭력죄, 자동차 도난죄 등으로 닉을 고소함으로써 피고 닉, 원고 아이라, 피고측 변호사 글렌다, 이 셋은 법정에 서게 된다. 재판 도중 요리사 오로라(Aurora: 이본느 윌더 분)가 닉이 누명을 썼던 은행강도범 덱스(Dex: 쥬드 오멘 분)와 비지를 끌고 나타나는 바람에 닉은 혐의가 풀리게 된다.

Sharon appears to be a normal 17-year-old girl with good grades, many friends, and a wonderful personality - hardly someone you think would be considering suicide. But her home life is constrained by the pressures and expectations of her parents. She slowly spirals downward, her mother at one point telling her that she has no business being unhappy. So, she gulps down a bottle of sleeping pills. She is saved, but for how long?

A small forest town is trying to promote itself as a place for tourists to come enjoy the therapeutic hot springs and unspoiled nature. Dr. Stockmann, however, makes the inconvenient discovery that the nature around the village is not so unspoiled. In fact, the runoff from the local tanning mill has contaminated the water to a dangerous degree. The town fathers argue that cleaning up the mess would be far too expensive and the publicity would destroy the town's reputation, so therefore news of the pollution should be suppressed. Dr. Stockmann decides to fight to get the word out to the people, but receives as very mixed reaction.

비행기에서 내릴 때 수지의 남편은 어느 여자로부터 인형을 보관해 달라는 부탁을 받는다. 그 여자는 곧 사라진다. 사실은 그 여자는 자신의 파트너인 해리 로트 몰래 이 인형 속에 밀수된 마약이 숨겨 놓은 것이었다. 해리 로트는 그녀의 배신을 알고난 뒤, 그녀를 살해하고 시체를 수지의 아파트에 남겨놓는다. 그리고는 마이크와 칼리노 등 2인조를 시켜, 최근에 시력을 잃은 수지에게 접근해 인형이 숨겨진 곳을 알아내려 한다. 수지는 위기상황으로 몰린다.

Although each always found the other's manner grating, they fall in love when thrown together--without their spouses--on vacation. On returning home they try to break things off, only to grow closer. A holiday together will finally settle whether they should end their marriages.
