After a car crash, a comedy duo wake to discover themselves in an army infirmary. At first they think they are in jail, then slowly realize that it is August 1945 and their colleagues are actually training for one-way flights to American battle ships.

This omnibus drama includes "The Kiss," "The Human Chair," "The Girl in the Locked Room," and "The Cliff," all based on Rampo's original stories, as well as the program's original "Contemporary Arc".
The Special is loosely inspired by horror classics of the time, such as "Carry" and "Fury."
