Chile, 1976. Carmen heads off to her beach house to supervise its renovation. Her husband, children and grandchildren come back and forth during the winter vacation. When the family priest asks her to take care of a young man he is sheltering in secret, Carmen steps onto unexplored territories, away from the quiet life she is used to.

Francisca is a 20-year-old young girl who lives in Tocopilla, a small town in the North of Chile, found between the Atacama desert and the Pacific Ocean. She dreams to leave but she has an 8-year-old brother, Diego, which is imprisoned in a deep mutism. When Fernando, the Diego new’s teacher, offers to apply some new pedagogical initiatives aimed at helping him, Francisca decides to take the chance and agrees, without imagining she bogs in an irreversible issue.

Santiago 1984. Carmen, former JJCC, after being tortured by the CNI, works as an undercover agent. Francisco, an agent obsessed with her, infiltrates her in an advertising production company, meets Gastón, creative director. He discovers that he is planning a commercial in the mountains as part of an escape operation for a political prisoner. Carmen manipulates both of them, lying to Francisco and approaching Gastón, in order to join the operation and thus achieve her own escape.

Ten years after her daughter was the victim of a hate crime, brutally beaten in the streets of Santiago for being a lesbian, Nancy is asked to participate in an unsolved mysteries TV show that will recreate the incident. Nancy, a hairdresser who has worked very hard to move on with her life, will have to decide if finding justice for her deceased daughter is worth exposing herself and her family on television.

A love triangle between a pioneer female writer; her husband -a retired military official-and the love of her life, the painter Moritz Rugendas, with whom she maintains an epistolary relationship for 10 years, with few personal encounters.
