Chile, 1976. Carmen segue para sua casa de praia para supervisionar a reforma. Seu marido, filhos e netos vão e voltam durante as férias de inverno. Quando o padre da família pede que ela cuide de um jovem que ele abriga em segredo, Carmen pisa em territórios inexplorados, longe da vida tranquila a que está acostumada.

Francisca is a 20-year-old young girl who lives in Tocopilla, a small town in the North of Chile, found between the Atacama desert and the Pacific Ocean. She dreams to leave but she has an 8-year-old brother, Diego, which is imprisoned in a deep mutism. When Fernando, the Diego new’s teacher, offers to apply some new pedagogical initiatives aimed at helping him, Francisca decides to take the chance and agrees, without imagining she bogs in an irreversible issue.

Santiago 1984. Carmen, former JJCC, after being tortured by the CNI, works as an undercover agent. Francisco, an agent obsessed with her, infiltrates her in an advertising production company, meets Gastón, creative director. He discovers that he is planning a commercial in the mountains as part of an escape operation for a political prisoner. Carmen manipulates both of them, lying to Francisco and approaching Gastón, in order to join the operation and thus achieve her own escape.
