While the Nazis occupied most of France, Jacques (Vincent Perez) has been active in the liberation underground. Now that the Allies have freed a significant portion of their country from German control, he and his buddy Michel (Matthieu Roze) can join the Free French army and fight with them to help bring about the downfall of the German empire. Both of them are quite young men, and their first love turns out to be the same woman, a lovely nurse named Christiane (Geraldine Pailhas). Michel woos her first, and she becomes pregnant by him. However, she is much more interested in Jacques, even though she is considering marrying an American solely for practical reasons.

프랑스의 남서부 도시 보르도에 흘러 들어온 쥴리엣은 미장원에서 머리 감기는 일을 하게 된다. 이곳에 들렀다가 쥴리엣에게 반한 베르제룽은 대학병원에서 명성을 떨치는 황혼에 접어든 노의사이다. 쥴리엣은 베르제롱이 제공한 안락한 집에서 풍요로운 삶을 누리며 만족한 생활을 하는데 어느날 기르던 강아지가 죽자 병원으로 달려간다. 베루제롱을 만나지 못한 쥴리엣은 대신 토트렐을 만난다. 토트렐은 베르제롱의 신임을 받는 장래가 촉망되는 인턴으로 쥴리엣과는 보르도로 오는 기차를 함께 타고 온 인연이 있는 사이다. 서로 끌린 이들은 강아지를 묻어주고 호텔 방으로 가 뜨거운 사랑을 나누는데 이 사실이 토트렐을 시기하는 동료에 의해 베르 제롱에게 알려진다. 두 사람은 베르 제롱을 피해 두 사람만의 보금자리를 꾸민다. 행복한 시간이 흐르고 이후 다시 헤어지게 된다. 토트렐은 약혼녀와 결혼을 하게 되고, 줄리엣은 불치의 병에 걸린다.

In Paris , Commissioner Stan Jalard and Inspector Simon Lecache plan to quit the police to go and enjoy a more peaceful life in the West Indies. In a nightclub, during a routine visit, they spot Schneider, a dreaded gangster and public enemy. At the time of his arrest, Simon is killed at close range by the criminal. Stan then decides to stay in the police to avenge Simon. Being the godfather of Christian, Simon's son, who sometimes lives in a boarding school, sometimes at home, he takes charge of his education. Two years later, Stan has been promoted, and he's told that Schneider had resurfaced in the capital. A long hunt begins.

In a building on the Boulevard Haussmann in Paris lives ten-year-old Roger, who is surrounded by women - his great-grandmother, his grandmother, and his mother Nicole. 시골 미인대회에서 뽑힌 적이 있는 앨리안느(Eliane: 이사벨 아자니 분)는 마을의 의용 소방대원이며, 자동차 수리공인 홀로리몬도(알랭 수송 분)와 사랑에 빠진다. 앨리안느는 팡퐁(Pin Pon)이란 별명을 가진 홀로리몬도의 계속적인 구애에, 계획적으로 그의 집 곡간에서 하룻밤을 보내고 난 뒤 승리감에 취한 팡퐁의 목을 서서히 조이기 시작한다. 1955년부터 시작된, 일광욕을 하다가 자동 피아노를 가지고 다니던 사나이들에게 당한 윤간의 복수가-현대로 맥이 이어져 진행되기 시작한 것이다. 앨리안느는 오직 복수의 일념 하나로, 몸을 던지어 목적을 향해 간다. 하지만 마지막에 이르렀을 때 범인은 팡퐁의 아버지가 아니라 다른 사람인 것으로 밝혀진다.

The movie starts with a mysterious girl riding her horse into a tree. Then she's rescued by millionaire Max Topfer, who is startled to discover in her possession a video showing him being shot by a man he doesn’t know. Both the girl, who has total amnesia, and the tape appear to have come from the future. With the aid of bodyguard Helmut, Max Topfer tries to find out why a total stranger is apparently going to kill him on camera.
