수(제니스 오프라셋)는 한적한 교외에서 아빠가 경영하는 오래된 돼지고기 국숫집 일을 돕고 있다. 비록 외국 여행은 커녕 비행기도 타본 적이 없지만, 가족 몰래 장학금을 얻어서 핀란드로 유학을 가려고 한다. 당장 거창한 꿈이 있는 것은 아니지만, 어디로든 벗어나면 꿈을 찾을 기회라도 얻을 수 있지 않을까 싶어서다.

한 기자가 살인을 자백하는 태국의 귀신 폽을 만난다. 마침내 하소연할 상대를 찾은 폽은 살인이 어떻게 일어났는지 설명하고 자신의 이야기를 발행해 달라고 요청한다. 기자는 이를 거절했다가 대신 거부할 수 없는 조건을 내걸며 둘은 계약을 맺게 된다.

2014년 태국에서는 군사 쿠데타가 일어나 군부가 정권을 장악했고, 21세기 태국에서 온 네 개의 시선이 군사주의가 일상에 침투하고 관계하는 방식을 탐구한다. 평화로워 보이는 사회의 질서는 설계된 리듬과 행동양식의 예외 없는 움직임을 배양하고 감시하는 체제 속에서 지속된다. 완벽히 동화되지 않으면 사회에서 축출되는 운명에 처한다. 사람들에게 잘못된 생각을 전할 수 있다며 사진 전시에 개입하는 세상에서 인간의 표정은 읽기를 거부당한다. 그러나 4개의 옴니버스에서 가장 중요한 시선의 운동은 군사주의의 효력이 상실되는 순간들을 읽어내는 장면들에 있다. 보통의 사람이 사진 찍은 얼굴에는 검열 따위로 제어될 수 없고 해석을 강제하는 풍부한 표정이 가득 담겨 있다. 움직일 수 없을 때도 사람들은 눈을 흘끗거리고, 도망가라는 메시지를 전하기도 한다. 일상에 스며든 군사주의의 풍경이 공사 중인 공원에 버티고 섰지만, 또한 과거를 기억하고 현재를 실행하는 다양한 사람과 그들의 시선이 태국의 미래를 살아갈 것이다.

Pueng, daughter of a military Colonel, has planned to spend her married life with Mann, a young Lieutenant with a promising future. On the day Martial Law was announced, she received a wedding invitation from a high school friend back in her hometown. Upon her return to Chanthaburi, Pueng is reunited with her old friends and encounters Boyd who came back to work at the promising event as a wedding photographer. The unresolved feelings between Pueng and Boyd resurface as they relive the old memories of their youthful days.

스칼라 극장은 1970년에 문을 연 영화관이다. 1000석 규모를 자랑하는 이곳에는 매일 밤 관객들로 가득 차곤 했다. 그 당시만 해도, 영화를 보러 가는 것은 무척이나 특별한 일이었다. 사람들은 극장이란 공간에서 한껏 멋을 내고, 공간 데이트를 하고, 사랑에 빠지곤 했다. 하지만 이제는 이 모든 것이 변했다. 쇼핑몰에는 멀티플렉스 극장이 당연한 듯 들어서 있고, 젊은 세대들은 영화를 휴대전화로 보곤 한다. 하지만 스칼라 극장에서만큼은 시간이 멈춰져 있다. 극장 초창기부터 일했던 직원들이 지금까지 남아있다. 스칼라 극장은 방콕에서 유일하게 남은 단독 영화관이다. 아쉽게도 스칼라 극장이 버텨온 시간 역시 끝을 향해 가고 있다.

During the filming in a small seaside town, Zoe, his American girlfriend from University, arrives for a week-long visit. But the change of country takes its toll and she soon becomes frustrated with the situation. Meanwhile, Ananda meets another girl on the beach.

Local girl Na runs a small hotel where every day is more of less the same until Ta arrives one day. Ta is an architect from the city who has come to oversee the building of a new development and very slowly the two build a friendship that develops into something more romantic.
