In 1945, two young American soldiers, brothers Budd and Stuart Schulberg, are commissioned to collect filmed and recorded evidence of the horrors committed by the infamous Third Reich in order to prove Nazi war crimes during the Nuremberg trials (1945-46). The story of the making of Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today, a paramount historic documentary, released in 1948.

Amidst the ruins of drive-in theaters, monsters and fears can no longer be seen on the screen. They haunt another margin. Using the freak figure to create their own myths, Texas artists question their role in this transvestite world. Masks and weird rituals lead us to an intimate view of their culture and the struggle to survive through poetry.

해외출장에서 돌아와 아내가 실종된 것을 발견한 한 회사원이 수소문에 나선다. 그러나 아내를 찾으려 하면 할수록 남자는 악몽 같은 무자비한 세상과, 어쩌면 영원히 빠져 나오지 못할 수도 있는 분열의 세계로 점점 빠져들어간다. 로 화제를 뿌렸던 감독들이 내놓은 이 신지알로는 영화 내내 보는 이를 바짝 긴장하게 만드는 맛이 있다. 아마추어 탐정 역할을 하는 외지에서 온 주인공, 원색의 배경 속에서 난도질하는 수수께끼의 살인마, 비밀스러운 스토리와 통로들을 뒤에 감춘, 생명을 가진 유기체 같은 건물, 그 외 다수 익스트림 클로즈업 샷들이 마리오 바바와 다리오 아르젠토 등 지알로 거장들의 수작을 지시한다. 그러나 복제라는 장치의 반복, 살을 에는 듯한 소름 끼치는 음향의 포화, 영화를 관통하는 뒤틀린 관능이 어우러져 생산되는 분열적 세계는 이 감독들의 개성과 재능에 해당한다. 형사와 집주인은 주인공의 분신이기도 하며, 로라라는 미지의 여자 또한 여러 얼굴로 구현된다. 끝까지 관객의 몫으로 남는 풀리지 않는 수수께끼는 이 영화의 치명적 매력을 배가한다. In a penitentiary, four prisoners occupy a cell: Carrère, who used his company to commit a fraud and was betrayed by his wife; the drag Marcus and his protégée, Paquerette, who ate his six month old sister; and the intellectual, Lassalle who killed his wife. One night, Carrère finds an ancient journal hidden in a hole in the wall of the cell. They realize that the book was written by Danvers in the beginning of the last century and is about black magic. They decide to read and use its content to escape from the prison, when they find the truth about Danvers' fate.
