셀마와 시난은 수년간의 결혼 생활 끝에 서로에게 좌절한 상태이다. 그들의 아들인 우무트는 자신에 대해 알아가고 정체화하려고 한다. 우무트는 고등학교 수구 선수로 복잡한 세상 속에서 삶을 살아가려고 하는 조용하고 차분한 학생이다. 이 가족은 모두 그들의 삶에 만족하지 못하고 있다.
1963년 5월 22일. 터키의 정치 사회적 실태에 불만을 느낀 장교들이 모여 쿠데타를 꾸민다. 한편 이스탄불에서는 쿠데타의 또 다른 공모자들이 국립라디오방송국을 점령하고 쿠데타에 관한 공식 선언을 하는 임무를 도맡아 진행하려 한다. 하지만 계획대로 돌아가는 것은 아무것도 없다.
The sale of an inherited house results in an unspoken tension between Cigdem and Kerim, a couple in their late thirties, to which their daughter does not seem indifferent.
Denise, a botanist, is working in the swamps in a part of Turkey, planting and researching local flora. In her evenings she sometimes meets with her lover Hamit, a simple man at first glance. But he is making his living with human trafficking which he keeps a secret from Denise. When Hamit learns that Denise is being sent back to her home country soon, one final trafficking job takes a dark outcome.
Istanbul 2014: Aslı gives shelter to a young political activist, who got into a fight with the police. The police investigates the case and ends up questioning Aslı's family. Her husband gets drawn into the affair. Their lives, and also their son's, start to become compromised. The situation escalates, as Aslı is not willing to cooperate with the investigators.
Planning to take any job she can get in order to save enough money and leave Turkey for the U.S., Mina is hired at an Istanbul café as a fortune teller who reads the dregs in coffee cups. She discovers she has the ability to offer comfort and insight to the customers who are just as lost in the wilderness as she is.
