3편의 독립된 쇼트 스토리로 구성된 옴니버스 작품. 전편의 주연 여배우가 동일하게 조성되어 여성 깊숙이 잠재된 마성을 그린다. 특히 마지막 에피소드는 일품. 섬뜩한 아프리카 목각 인형에는 저주가 걸려 있어 봉인이 풀리자 살의를 드러낸다. 키 30센티 정도의 살인 인형이 날카로운 창을 들고 방 안을 돌며 뒤쫓아 오는 악몽 같은 이야기로 주인공의 분전이 손에 땀을 쥐게 한다. "사탄의 인형" 척키의 뿌리라 하겠다. 20년 후인 95년에 속편이 만들어졌다.

Malcolm Shanks is a sad and lonely man, deaf, mute and living with his cruel sister and her husband, who delight in making him miserable. His only pleasure, it seems, is in making and controlling puppets.
