다중인격자의 내면과 심리를 그린 아일랜드판 미스터리 스릴러물 아들을 불의의 사고로 잃은 정신과 의사 제인 밀튼은 유아를 목졸라 죽이려한 소녀 도로시 밀즈의 사건을 맡아 도로시가 사는 작은 섬으로 찾아온다. 그러나 오는 당일 과속하는 십대들의 자동차에 의해 사고를 당한다. 섬 주민의 분위기는 어둡고 음산하기 짝이 없는데 15살의 소녀 도로시는 자신은 아기를 해치지 않았다고 주장한다. 도로시에게서 던컨, 커트, 메리, 미미의 네 인물이 나타나자 제인은 다중 인격이라는 정신병 진단을 내릴 즈음, 도로시가 자신의 죽은 아들 데이비드 목소리를 내자 제인의 생각은 달라진다. 도로시의 내면에 사는 인물들은 10년 전 죽은 마을 십대들이고 또한 제인이 만난 과속 자동차의 탑승자들이었다. 제인은 주민들의 적대적인 시선을 무시하고 조사를 강행하고 결국 죽음에 이른다. 집단적 공포와 내적 갈등, 인간에 대한 사랑과 이해가 지역 사회의 폐쇄성 속에 펼쳐지면서 다음 장면을 궁금하게 한다. 마지막 전환점에서 법정의 정의나 과학적 설명을 기대하는 도시민의 생각과는 반대되는 종교적인 아일랜드 마을의 정의를 만나게 된다.

A group of American teens comes to Ireland to visit a friend who takes them on a camping trip in search of the local, fabled magic mushrooms. When the psychedelics start taking hold, the panicked friends are attacked by ghostly creatures; but how can they determine whether what they are experiencing is reality or hallucination?

Two teenagers Jimmy and Rose spend their vacation at the small Irish sea-resort Bray. Out of boredom they observe other people and imagine wild stories about them. One day they observe the blonde Renee, and Jimmy is immediately fascinated by her and even follows her home. She, too, seems to like him, but for a mysterious reason keeps him at a distance.
