자유로운 영혼을 가진 소년 사메이의 삶은 영화와 열정적인 사랑에 빠지면서 180도 바뀌게 된다. 영화를 보기 위해 장사도 잘되지 않는 아빠의 작은 찻집에서 돈을 훔치는가 하면 학교도 빼먹기 일쑤다. 9살 아들의 영화에 대한 '부도덕'한 집착을 알게 된 사메이의 아빠는 아들에게 매를 들며 '더러운' 영화 세계에서 발을 떼라고 경고한다. 하지만 이미 영화에 흠뻑 빠진 사메이에겐 너무 늦은 일일 뿐이다. 어느 날, 갤럭시 극장의 영상기사 페이잘을 알게 된 사메이는 은밀한 거래를 제안한다. 바로 엄마가 정성껏 싸준 도시락을 페이잘에게 건네는 대신 극장 영사실에서 마음껏 영화를 볼 수 있게 해주는 것! 이들의 '도시락-영화' 거래는 변치 않는 우정으로 발전하고 사메이는 친구들과 함께 자신들의 꿈인 35mm 영화를 찍기 시작한다. 그러나 얼마 지나지 않아 격변의 역사 속에서 둘은 가슴 아픈 선택을 하게 되고, 그들의 꿈은 영원히 사라질 위기에 처한다.

The director of the film literally traveled with the film to various alternative spaces with his Projector and screened the movie for his audience. The film is Sandeep Mohan's second feature film after his well-received debut film "Love, Wrinkle-free".
