A beautiful Italian woman is told by her black friend about the Carribean love god Jambaya who appears in the form of the snake. By the end of the movie, Cassini has decided to give herself to Jambaya while Cunningham departs with her white friend's ex-lover, establishing a neat symmetry between their respective fantasies of exoticism.

Pascal Gorriot, an escaped criminal, accidentally witnesses Lucille disposing of her second husband Andre's body at sea. Thirteen years later, Andre's cousin turns up at Lucille's villa with his Alastian dog. It's not long before creepy Colin, Andre's son, strangles the unfortunate hound and Falaise, Andre's daughter, stabs their unwelcome family member to death. Another unwanted visitor friend arrives and rapidly seduces Falais. Colin is jealous and warns the Don Juan about the dangers of being a male praying mantis and it's not long before Falaise decapitates him. Pascal, the ex-convict who witnessed the murder of Andre is the next intruder. He takes the family hostage and demands blackmail money, prompting them to do away with him in an acid bath. The police investigate and a chain of deception and murder is revealed...

8월의 달을 위한 다섯 개의 인형은 너무 많은 것을 아는 여자와 함께 마리오 바바를 대표하는 스릴러다. 아가사 크리스티의 걸작 추리 소설 (국내 제목 '그리고 아무도 없었다')이 원작으로, 등장인물의 수는 줄었지만 내용은 크게 다르지 않다. 배가 아니면 접근이 힘든 해변의 저택에 모인 6인의 남녀가 보이지 않는 살인마에 의해 하나둘 살해당하고 최종적으로 한 명만이 살아남는 것. 에서 지알로 장르를 창조한 마리오 바바는 이 영화에서도 예의 그 장기를 유감없이 발휘한다. 붉은 색을 주조로 한 원색의 저택 인테리어, 여성의 육체를 노골적으로 탐하는 카메라 운용, 핏빛 스타일이라고 해도 좋을 잔인무도한 살해 장면까지, 특히 시체들이 고깃덩이와 함께 냉동고에 대롱대롱 매달린 장면은 희생자의 고통을 즐기려는 듯한 마리오 바바의 악취미적 연출이 절로 묻어난다. 의 악당 리더를 연기한 모리스 폴리가 살해당하는 남자 중 한 명으로 출연한다. A cop has a cousin who is a thief, and one day while he is chasing him he ends up in a room with a murdered man. The two are photographed at the murder scene and believed to be the assassins. The police however believe in their innocence and send the odd couple on the trail of the real murderer who is thought to be working in a circus.

Art Direction
A woman is chased onto the ramparts of a castle by a gun-toting figure. She stumbles and falls to her death. Barbara, the mentally unbalanced owner of the castle, is the main suspect. However, there is no proof against her and the murders continued. But not everything is quite as it seems. The film is set in the Balsorano Castle and is shot in expressionistic black-and-white.
