최고 인기를 누리는, 미국 TV 퀴즈 쇼 진행자인 잭 트라멜은 녹화를 마치고 집으로 가는 길에 엘리베이터에서 의문의 여자와 마주치고 정신을 잃는다. 그리고 잠시 후, 깜깜한 엘리베이터에서 온몸이 꽁꽁 묶인 채, 눈을 뜨는 잭. 이 알 수 없는 여인은, 몇 개의 주사기, 장비, 총 등으로 잭을 위협하며 퀴즈를 내기 시작한다. 오답을 말할 때마다 신체 일부를 잘라내겠다는 협박과 함께 진행되는 퀴즈 쇼. 그러나 질문이 이어지면서, 잭의 어두운 과거 사건이 이 여자와 아픈 상처와 얽혀있다는 것이 서서히 밝혀지는데... 목숨을 위협할 만큼의 아픈 그녀의 상처는 과연 무엇일까? 잭은 퀴즈 쇼의 달인답게, 이 위기를 벗어날 수 있을 것인가?
