자신의 전집 출판일에 참석한 노령의 작가 비터는 그 자리에 모인 사이비 작가들과 권위만 앞세우는 신문 주인을 비난하고 작별을 고한다. 이를 뒷편에서 우연히 지켜본 노처녀 해리엣이 감동하여 엄마의 위선적인 보호를 과감히 뒤로하고 미란다 가문의 가정교사로 취직되어 멕시코에 온다. 그러나 멕시코는 이미 농민들을 주축으로 한 혁명이 진행 중이었고, 미란다 가문은 혁명의 적으로 선언된 뒤였다. 곧 자신도 모르게 혁명군의 무리에 휩쓸려 같이 어울리게 되고, 이곳에 온 비터를 알게되며, 혁명군을 이끄는 인디안 장군 아로요와 사랑에 빠지게 된다. 미란다 가족의 영지를 탈취한 아로요는 혁명군과 사령관 빌라의 진격 명령에도 불구하고 계속 남아 옛날의 토지 문서를 찾아내고 그 문서들과 씨름한다. 시간이 경과하며 부하들의 불안감이 퍼지고, 아들처럼 친해진 아로요를 위해 노령의 작가 비터는 문서를 태워 버리는데 이를 본 아로요는 그를 등 뒤에서 쏘아 살해한다. 비터가 자신이 좋아하던 유명 작가라는 사실을 뒤늦게 알자마자 해리엣은 자신의 품안에서 그의 최후의 ? 보게 된다. 해리엣은 그의 시신을 모셔가기 위해 미국 영사관의 도움을 청하고, 미국의 개입을 염려한 혁명군 사령관은 아로요를 명령위반으로 처형한다. 혁명군의 젊은 장군과 노령 작가의 두 죽음을 목격한 해리엣은 두 사람을 기억하며 새로운 삶을 위해 멀리 떠난다.

더치와 특수부대 동료들은 CIA와 계약을 맺어 중앙 아메리카 정글에서 게릴라들에게 붙잡힌 조종사를 구하러 간다. 임무는 순조롭게 진행되었으나 그들은 귀환 도중 무언가로 부터 공격을 받는다. 보이지 않는 적은 정글 속에 숨어서 그들의 사체를 전리품으로 수집해간다. 이 외계 괴물은 더치의 동료들을 하나씩 죽이면서 유희를 벌이는데...

사진기자 리차드(제임스 우즈)는 20여년을 싸움터를 찾아다니며 극한 상황 속에서의 인간의 삶과 죽음을 카메라에 담아왔다. 하지만 지금 리처드는 월남전과 캄보디아전에서 받은 충격을 극복하지 못한 채 샌프란시스코의 빈민가에 처박혀 지낸다. 그런 그를 다시 부른 곳은 엘살바도르 내전. 리처드는 친구인 의사 록(제임스 벨루시)과 함께 엘살바도르로 간다. 엘살바도르의 현실은 월남전의 재탕, 그 자체다. 미국의 지원을 받는 군정 당국의 부패한 모습이나 연일 수십 명이 사살되거나 실종되고 있다. 심지어 반정부 발언을 하던 추기경 로메로까지 제단에서 총격을 받아 숨지는 상황이다. 리처드는 그 상황에서 사진 기자로서의 역할을 충실히 실행한다. 그러나 도움을 주었던 옛친구 존 캐시의 눈밖에 나서 가짜 서류를 만들어 옛친구인 마리아와 함께 탈출을 감행한다. 그러나 국경에서 마리아는 살바도르로 되돌아가야 했고, 리처드는 아직도 마리아를 찾아 헤맨다.

복역 중인 람보(John Rambo: 실베스타 스탤론 분)는 트로트먼(Trautman: 리차드 크레나 분) 대령에 의해 특수 임무인 냉전 지대에 잠입, 포로의 사진만을 촬영해 오는 조건으로 석방되어 위험 지구로 낙하한다. 현지 연락원인 소녀 코 바오(Co Bao: 줄리아 닉슨 분)를 만나고 악명높은 해적 드론의 협조로 목적지에 당도한다. 포로 수용소에 잠입, 옛동료 반크스(Banks: 앤디 우드 분)를 만남 람보는 임무 내용과 달리 동료를 구출해 계획된 구출 장소로 가나 반크스와 동행임을 안 본부는 작전 중지 명령을 내린다. 고립된 람보와 반크스는 게릴라 부대의 포도스프키(Podovsky: 스티븐 버코프 분) 일행에 의해 고문과 신문을 당한다. 이때 코의 도움으로 수용소를 탈출, 추격전을 전개하다 코가 죽게 된다. 이에 람보의 분노와 슬픔이 폭발한다.

칸티는 남편 트레곤이 자신의 첫번째 자식을 칼가라신께 제물로 바치려는 것을 알고 아이를 데리고 도망 가지만 결국 트레곤에게 잡히고 만다. 하지만 아이가 쌍둥이인것을 안 트레곤은 어느 아이가 첫번째 아이인지를 모르게 되자 칸티를 다그친다. 트레곤 손에 죽게 된 칸티는 크로나에게 도움을 청하고 이때 나타난 크로나는 트레곤을 죽인다. 결국 칸티는 크로나에게 트레곤이 다시 돌아올테니 트레곤으로 부터 쌍둥이를 보호해 달라는 말을 남기고 죽는다. 크로나는 자신이 마법의 힘과 무술을 나눠준 후 친구 드래곤에게 쌍둥이를 맡긴다. 크로나는 언젠가 트레곤이 여자 쌍둥이들을 찾아 올테니 아무도 아이들이 여자라는건 알리지 말도록 부탁한다. 20여년후 다시 환생하여 돌아온 트레곤은 자신의 쌍둥이들을 찾기위해 온마을을 뒤진다. 이런 과정에서 쌍둥이 마라와 미라는 양부모를 잃게되고 이때 나타난 크로나로부터 트레곤이 자기 어머니의 원수임을 알게 된다. 어머니의 복수를 위해 길을 떠나는 쌍둥이들은 발다라는 좋은 사람을 만나 같이 트레곤을 찾으러 간다. 발다 역시 에릭이라는 왕자를 찾고 있었다. 도시로 들어온 일행은 쉽게 에릭을 찾고 그로부터 트레곤이 그곳에 산다는 것을 알게된다. 게다가 처음으로 그로부터 자기들이 남자가 아니라 여자라는 사실도 알게된다. 그러던 중 트레곤의 애첩 델리시아의 간괴로 마리와 에릭이 잡혀가게 된다. 에릭이 고대 귀족 가문의 자손임을 안 트레곤은 마라가 에릭의 아이를 갖게 함으로써 완전한 제물을 신께 바치고자 한다. 트레곤은 둘에게 마법의 술을 마시게 해 마법을 걸어 순순히 제물이 되도록 한다. 또한 이들을 구하러 온 미라와 발다도 트레곤의 마술에 걸려 지하에 갇힌다. 하지만 위기의 순간에 쌍둥이들은 크로나가 위기에 처했을때 비탈이라는 신비의 이름을 부르라는 것을 기억해 내고 마침내 트레곤 일당을 해치운다.

A British woman visits her husband at the Mexican mine he is attempting to reopen and discovers that the workers refuse to enter the mine, fearing an ancient curse. The couple enter the mine to prove there is no danger and inadvertently release a demon which possesses people's left hands and forces them to behave in a suitably diabolical manner.

Mexico is in the midst of Revolution when the protagonist returns after studying in Paris to find his native town in Chihuahua occupied by Francisco Villa’s revolutionary forces. He visits his deserted home and remembers people and events from his adolescence that provide glimpses of pre-Revolutionary society under dictatorship: his uncle, the chief of police; his sister’s involvement with a liberal political association; bathing with the girls from a local brothel; a labor strike that ended in a massacre. Returning to the present he discovers that his father has been assassinated and, in the company of his father’s former servant, joins the revolutionary movement.

Mario Moreno portrays a professor in this movie. A small town in the middle of no where requests the school Mario Moreno is working in for a teacher. He ends up going to give the town a hand. When he arrives he comes to know the corrupt leaders who through out the movie try to make him leave. Although he is being harassed you can see how much he cares for the kids and their circumstances. He deals with problems by using his hilarious comments.

Young priest Father Sebastián is assigned to a parish in San Jeronimo el Alto, where he is not welcomed by the community, particularly the resident priest Father Damián. The newcomer gradually earns the trust of the people through humor, but firmly captures their hearts by saving the town fiesta by fighting a bull when the hired torero failed to show. Father Sebastián counsels the townspeople, lecturing them on their duties in a modern society. He used the collection plate to redistribute the town's wealth more evenly.

Soon, Macario is more wealthy than the village doctor, which draws the attention of the feared Inquisition.

In the fall of 1824 Javier Montenegro, Bradomin Marquis is spared death hanging by Captain Casares, and in return, the Marquis agrees to help him escape to America. Adaptation of "Sonata de Otoño" and "Sonata de Estío" of Ramón María del Valle-Inclan, which included elements Bardem later works of the author.

브뉘엘의 또 다른 영화 "트리스티나"의 원저자이자, 톨스토이, 발작, 졸라, 디킨스와 비유되는 위대한 스페인 작가인 베니토 페레스 갈도스의 원작 소설을 각색한 작품. 브뉘엘은 19세기 스페인을 배경으로 한 원작과는 달리 "나자린"의 배경을 독재 정권이 지배하던 19세기말의 멕시코로 옮겨 그리스도의 계율에 따라 엄격하게 살고자 하는 성직자의 퇴락의 과정을 심오하게 그리고 있다. 이 영화에서 브뉘엘은 성직자 또한 인간임을 보여준다. 그런 점에서 옥타비오 파스는 이 작품이 '인간의 조건을 드러냄과 동시에 그것을 넘어서는 방법을 보여준다. 나자리오는 신을 잃어버렸지만 사랑과 형제애를 발견한다'라고 평했다. 이 영화에 담긴 그리스도에 대한 헌신, 신앙, 희망, 고통과 인간에 대한 사랑과 형제애에 대한 모호성 때문에 성직자들은 이 영화를 종교적인 영화로 받아들였고, 무신론자들은 이 영화를 신성모독을 보여주는 대표작으로 손꼽고 있다.

After a quarrel with her boyfriend on New Year's Eve, Mane drives her car from Mexico City to Cuernavaca to meet her parents in their country house. The car breaks down in the highway and Mane has to ask for help. Mechanic Cruci arrives and, after testing the car, offers Mane a ride on his motorcycle. Back in Mane's house, she invites him some drinks to celebrate New Year's Eve. They get drunk and, the morning after, Mane's parents arrive and find them sleeping together. Not knowing what happened, Mane and Cruci are forced to get married against their will.

In a small Mexican village the news shock neighbors, Ricardo Alfaro, a wealthy local rancher has disappeared without a trace.
