아나는 자신의 8살 난 아들 안데르스를 데리고 폭력적인 남편으로부터 도망친다. 전남편이 아이와 자신을 찾을 수 없도록 낯선 도시의 아파트 단지로 비밀리에 거처를 옮긴 아나는 여전히 불안을 떨칠 수가 없어서, 바로 옆 방에 잠든 아이의 안전을 살피기 위해서 소형 무전기, 베이비콜을 설치한다. 베이비콜을 통해 어딘가에서 비명 소리가 들리고, 아나는 그 소리가 같은 아파트 단지의 살해 사건이 아닐까 의심하게 된다. 안데르스는 전학 온 학교에서 아무 때고 불쑥 그들의 집을 찾아오는 어딘가 어둡고 이상한 기운을 가진 친구와 가까워진다. 안데르스의 친구는 아나가 걱정하는 베이비콜을 통해 들리는 비명에 대해 알고 있는 것처럼 보이는데.

Stella Polaris is a personal document in fiction form of a bygone era and culture in the northernmost part of Norway. At the same time described the current Finnmark in the scene from our own time. The story is narrated by a woman's eyes, both as children in the busy fishing village and as an adult in the present. She returns to the birthplace and remember how life was before the fishing village was closed. Love story between her and her childhood friend is central to the action. 'Stella Polaris' is in the form of associative told with an unconventional dramaturgy.
